Toriel twirled acutely one one heel, her dress spiraling out like an umbrella woven out of ebony shadows. The sky were she stood shifted; the furious storm clouds retreating behind more tentative flurries. The clouds flocked anxiously to each other, huddling in a cowering pack. Toriel's scowl deepened.

She marched over to the flock of flimsy wisps. Toriel reached a delicate paw outward, turning her wrist slowly. Sparks crackled nervously from the cotton-like membrane. She flicked her digits together, smirking as the clouds rolled away a couple paces, eyeing her closely. The heavy fog's  size bubbled and shrinks with each shuddering breath.

The goat deity rolled her glistening eyes. "ASGORE, COME OUT, YOU SNIFFLING COWARD!" Flames started to lick the bottom of her frock eagerly.

The haze froze, deep in thought, until they finally parted. There was revealed a crouching cream monster, his floppy ears and muzzle shaped similarly to Toriel's. A gleaming flaxen beard perched comfortably under his chin. A field of ochroid curls was hidden under a crest of decaying leaves. He donned on a patchwork robe of vibrant, crisp blues and royal violets; decorated in intricate, golden swirls. His entire bellowed in the wind endlessly. His sapphire eyes chanced a glimpse at her. Dark grey bags sagged under them.

"Toriel..." He smiled. Toriel did not offer one back. His smile wavered and died. "What brings you to the Realm of the Heavens?" He inquired, his limbs elegantly unfolding from under him as he rose. His knees knocked together weakly.

Toriel coiled her arms in a selfish, sheltering embrace. "You caused this." She hissed venomously. "All of this."

Asgore stumbled, his arms spread wide to catch himself. "I did not." He protested, his eyes glued to the ever-changing floor below them. The mist curled into thin tendrils, sprouting just under their bare paws. He heaved a inhale through chattering teeth. "I was merely trying to help-"

"Look at what you caused, for once!" The supreme being wailed, her hands flinging into the air. "Do you realize how many lives were lost by your stupidity? How many perished?" She jeered at him, smoke swelling from her fingertips.

Asgore nodded sluggishly, as if the atmosphere was made from honey. "I understand." He spoke hollowly.

Cinders triggered to life, and her paws constricted; forming two flat palms. Her digits flexed as she allowed the fire to expand. "You deserve to rot as a corpse for what you have done." She replied coldly, her deep wrinkles etched with disgust, up-turning her snout neatly.

Asgore's head hung low, swaying gingerly in the whipping gale. His crown of greenery crumbled, then traveled the strong current of wind. "I understand." He sobbed, his shoulders loosening, trembling.

A light drizzle dotting the landscape, bundling in preparation of the dreaded event. Shutting her eyes, she summoned the very weapon bound to her soul. The scalding inferno morphed and stretched into the familiar form in her cupped hands. The chaotic blaze hardened, dimming into a writhing mass of molten obsidian. The outer edge collapsed, and the dull luster of the corrupt blade appeared, seemingly almost willing to commit the ultimate end.

The drizzle whipped up into a storm, the zephyr bellowing shrieks of secrets and sins in an unearthly chorus. Rain pounded against her skin, stinging like poison. The somber overcast glared at her, loathing her for her impulsive decisions. Toriel glanced at the scythe, warm to her touch. Her reflection stared, angry and exhausted. The fierce expression smoothed as she contemplated her actions.

Asgore continued to blubber, moans wrestling from his hoarse throat. Guilt overwhelmed him with the conviction that he was the one that delivered those deaths, all of them. It wasn't fair that he got to live forever and the rest did not. He fancied he saw crimson stains covering his paws.

Toriel blinked. This saber was the one that transported the dead to a better afterlife.

In this case, the scythe was prepared to steal the life of one who destroyed many more.

Fate is a cruel mistress.

Lowering her chin, forcing herself to face a different direction, The Mother Goddess treaded over to the bawling divinity. She lifted the weapon strongly in a overhead arch-

The final lighting cracked. The wind vanished in a hushed gasp. The sky became a complete teal, free of any clouds. The damage was done.
