((AUTHORS NOTE:
This was the first part of an abandoned project that combined Underfell with Gaster Blaster AU. I decided to publish it here, since I'm probably not going to keep going with it. Unless you guys want me too! :) Anyway, enjoy!))
Frisk's feet stomped through the well worn snow, the only sound in this eerie slience. Their pink and blue striped shirt provided little resistance to the unwarranted cold. They glanced around the looming dark pines nervously, bracing as their imagination conjured horrors peering at them from the sliding shadows. Flowey quietly whimpered in his flowerpot; given to them by Toriel, and Frisk gently moved their own trembling hand through the buttercup's yellow petals. Frisk recalled what the flower had said at their first meeting; In this world, it's kill or be killed... Frisk made a soft moan as the stone in their stomach grew, replacing the warm slice of butterscotch cinnamon pie- Toriel Frisk suddenly wished for the slightly insane goat's company, and looked behind them at the grand violet door-
What was that!?!
Movement. Frisk hugged the petrified plant to their chest, panting heavily. After a few soulbeats, they slowly spun to follow the flatter snow path. Now their teeth were chattering for a different reason-
SNAP!
Frisk leapt into the air in a adrenaline filled rush; causing Flowey to fling from their hold. The child's gaze whipped to and fro again, but they saw no one. They hugged themself, trying not to choke on tears that burned to come-
"I-It was j-just a st-stick." Flowey said, with a mouthful of snow. Frisk carefully picked up their shivering ally as Flowey spit out the remains of the ice. "M-maybe we sh-should turn around, T-Toriel wouldn't mind it-"
"N-no," coughed Frisk. They brushed the white particles off the disc of their best friend. Frisk carefully pulled their phone out of their pocket, the screen still bearing a horizontal jagged line. "I'm still going to call her, though. It would be nice to hear from her again, even if she was a little creepy."
Flowey stayed slient as they retraced the number Toriel had relayed to them. Frisk gasped as the phone blared it's signature ring ring ring, then giggled nervously at their jumpy-ness.
"Come on...!" Frisk pleaded to the small blackberry. Flowey bit his lip in
anticipation. The screen died as Toriel's voice rang out:
"Hello, random caller. If it's more important than snails or my time, then dare to leave a message after the beep."
Beeeeeppp....
Frisk swallowed as disappointment crashed into them. They pocketed the cracked phone, sniffling as the wind clawed at their bare skin. They took a deep breath, trying to get their unwavering resolve back. "I-I have t-to get out of here. Y-you still want to help, right?"
I hate it when they look like that. Frisk was only a nine year old, so they could pull off the vulnerable face well. But they wouldn't save them from any of those monsters. Flowey flinched as he fancied what would Frisk look like as those people ripped them to shreds. Bent, broken. Blood...
"O-of course!" Flowey stood up straight, placing his leafs on either side of his stem. "We c-c-can do this! Y-yeah, let's g-go." The human automatically stalked forward. A new determination gleamed in their squinted eye.
It makes me feel ba- Wait. I can't feel anything. Flowey sighed in defeat. Thanks for the bitter reminder.
I haven't even told them about how they need a monster soul to cross the barrier. The weight of this thought made Flowey slump. This journey is pointless. I should have them just turn around now-
"Wh-what's this Flowey?" Flowey jumped out of his depressing reverie. Frisk's hand roughly ran along one of the poles a wooden gate-looking thingy. Flowey cocked his head curiously.
"How am I supposed to know? I never been out of the Ruins-" Flowey froze.
Crunch.
Crunch.
Crunch...
"Frisk! Hide!" Flowey whispered harshly. Frisk gasped and whirled around in a panic. They tried to charge through the gate, but we're brought to a halt as something snagged their collar. They yelped as they were lifted high in the air and dropped Flowey from their grip.
"Ouch!" Flowey cried out as they hit the surprisingly hard snow for the second time today. He suck in a sharp breath as a sharp edge dug deep in his roots. My pot must've broke, he realized as he stretched his roots outward. He latched them into the ground and brought himself back up with a grunt. Now he could see-
Oh god. Someone's got them! Flowey's eyes widened as he got a good view of the kidnapper. It was a short, chubby skeleton with a black hoodie and red kitted sweater underneath, with a crimson eye glowing brightly in the dimness.
"Well, well, lookie what we have here. A human." The skeleton chuckled as the human kicked and struggled.
"Isn't this a treat." He drawn out "treat" with a poisonous drawl. He adjusted his hold on the hyperactive Frisk and beamed in a very unfriendly way.
"F-frisk!" Flowey yelled; making the ruby eye flash onto him. Sweat rolled down the side of the buttercup's disc. Great, now he knows I'm here. Points to Flowey for his genius.
"Oh? A talking flower? Ain't that something." The intimidating monster's grin stretched into abnormal lengths as he took a step forward.
"Friend of yours?" The skeleton gestured to the fearful Frisk in his arms. Frisk shook their head wildly, arms swinging like a bird close to freedom.
"F-flowey! Just run!" The skeleton roared with laughter as Frisk made fruitless attempts to take flight. Flowey sunk his roots lower into the ground and crouched away from the taller monster.
"I think I hit the jackpot!" The captor cackled as he summoned a magical ruby bone. His cherry tongue traveled across his sharp canines out of habit, landing on his golden tooth.
"Sorry, bud-dy, but this is gonna to hurt you alot more then it's gonna hurt me." Then, the bone zoomed toward him-
Pain.
Flowey crashed to the ground (if you're keeping count, third time) as Frisk's screech reached his nonexistent ears. Flowey fought the darkness that open it's arms out wide to him, but the burning injury felt like a roaring fire; he could almost hear it crackling...
"Heh heh." The simple snicker swam in his pounded in his head as the skeleton leered down at him smoothly.
A midnight colored sneaker. It flew down on top of him-
Flowey gritted his teeth as the shoe dug it's heel into his stem. Flowey choked as blood traveled up his throat, feeling warmness soak down his chin.
The flower blinked it's beady eyes to the monster towering above him, almost getting lost in the angry red of his mystical eyesocket...
He wrapped his vines between the skeleton's spacious leg bones; twisting it around his ankle and giving it a weak tug. The captor only kicked the useless attempt way, still smirking, still chortling.
"Fr- fr... frisk..." Flowey stuttered pitifully as he saw the kid's body become rigid. The vines retreated meekly into the soil to hide from the skeleton's wrath.
Flowey winced and flipped to his other side as another hair-raising scream filled the cavern. His feverish disc met the coolness below him, and he squeezed his eyes shut aganist the hollering, hoping to escape it all...
Blackness... The blackness...
