They were getting close. They memorized the way now, the event that were to happen. They still felt a little jolt of happiness as a monster got caught in the rampage through the Core.

The Madjick was easy enough, a few swings and it was gone. The human looked at the other monster, checking it quickly. They didn't know why they did it, but it seemed familiar.

The weapon dropped with a clatter. Their eyes widened as a unexpected memory resurfaced...

"Knight knight, dear."

"Heh heh! Good night, mom!"

"I have been having these dreams. They scare me..."

Warm arms pulled them in a embrace. "You want me to sing you a song?"

The fur felt comfortable to their unprotected skin. "Yes." The coldness of thier fear washed away as mom sang the darkness away. It was like mom was a beacon of safe light, keeping the evil away, even if for a moment...

The human snapped back to the fight at hand, realizing that Knight Knight was attacking them. They glanced behind them for their weapon, the frying pan, but they didn't pick it up.

Instead, they started to hum. Soft at first, like Shyren, by soon raised their voice was their confidence grew. They were singing a song they knew from heart, one that told of heart itself, and what pain it can cause.

It was making Knight Knight sleepy, and soon, it was fell to sleep. The human clenched their fists, coming to a battle in their head. The unspoken battle won, they spared the monster. They left they abandoned weapon, and moved on in their journey.

The Angel of Death has hesitated. The flames of their massacre has died down. But the Underground is not empty yet.
