ableist slurs

Now I know that there are things that can be said to offend someone of a certain race, or gender, or religion and that it is wrong to do so but this ableist shit is honestly going to far.

Now I'm not trying to say that I am the most educated on this topic because I'm not if I was I probably wouldn't think it was this unnecessary.

So I've been seeing all over the Internet like people, 'activists' say spread the word to end the word.

This movement refers to the word ret*rded. Now I personally don't few this as a bad word. I blanked it for my fewer than might.

If you guys were miss informed but someone who is mentally ret*rded is not a slur but in fact a label.

It does not refer to people with special needs or autism.

It in fact refers to a person in a vegetable like state that can not be considered mental coherent for they do not react through proper brain functions.
This people will never be able to complete life tasks or live in society.

This is a actual condition. Not a slur. And this is coming from a girl who took a college level psych class.

But I can see why it's been viewed throughout the year as a bad word. But that is because it's been used out of context for so long people don't know the actual meaning behind the word.

So I do believe there are actual slurs that are out there but the ones that are being deemed so are not a bad, they're just a bunch of people who will never have the mindset to actually comprehend what these people are going through and what they find a offensive.

They're trying to speak for a group of people who know how to and are trying to in able them from doing so.

The same way people say let natives speak on native problems. Or blacks speak on black problems is the same way they should think of mentally ill/ or unable community.

If you are able body and don't fall under the mental/physically disabled category stay and yall lane.
