I enter in my flat and drop my purse on a chair next to the door. I walk in the kitchen and open the fridge to take some Chinese leftovers. I place them in the microwave and decide to look for Carla while waiting for the food to get hot.
I knock on her door and it opens at my gesture. I glance through the small space between the door and the wall and notice she isn't in her bed. I fully open the door and walk in her room. The bed was done, there was no clothes on the floor and it was cold inside, meaning there hasn't been anyone here for awhile.
Maybe she left earlier to get something or see someone, it was past noon already anyway. I haven't seen her a lot lately, we've always been busy with our own things, and I thought I was going to spend some time with her last night but then she left me alone and I ended up with Harry after.
I walk out of her room and go back to the kitchen to take my food. I sit on the table and, from the corner of my eyes, I notice a piece of paper on the counter. I extend my hand and reach for it and recognize Carla's handwriting.
Hey Kim :)
I left earlier today to hang with some friends and I left a note so you won't freak out if I'm not here when you wake up. Don't forget to take the pain pills for your hangover looooove ;)
PS: If you have nothing important to do, you can come with us? It's on the 9th floor, door 907!
See ya (maybe),
Carls xox
Since when do we have friends living in the same building as us? She probably met new people at some party and is now all friendly with them, she doesn't have time for our friendship anymore. Now that I think of it, she has been quite distant with me, she's either sleeping or somewhere else and we don't talk as much as we used to. Which is kind of unusual for people who live in the same flat.
I leave the note on the counter and finish eating my noodles. I place the plate in the sink and walk over to the bathroom to brush my teeth. If I'm going to meet new people, I might as well smell good.
I untie my hair and let my dirty blond locks loose. I decide to keep my oversized sweater and leggings and put on my large black boots, take my purse and leave our flat. In the elevator I press on the 9th floor button and patiently wait for it to stop. We leave on the fifth floor so it isn't going to be that long.
What kind of friend does she hang out with now? She usually stays with girls, boys don't stay friend with her for a long time because she always leads them on and they get crushed. But I've seen her hanging out with more of them lately and I'm starting to think that she's up to something.
Maybe I'm just overreacting, but she's my best friend, I know her well enough to see that she has something in the back of her mind and she hasn't told me yet.
Well sorry my dear Carla, I'm going to know it sooner or later.
The doors finally open and I walk on the blue carpet of the hallway, looking for door 907. I hear laughing and soon enough, I'm in front of the door where the sound is coming from, belonging to her friends.
I knock on the door, not sure if they are going to hear it over their loud voices. I then hear steps coming from inside and the doors opens, revealing Harry.
Wait whAT?!
"Harry?"
"Kim! "
We both say the other's name at the same time and I practically fall on the floor because of how shocked I am.
