Chapter 22 Hospitals Again

I paced around the hospital waiting room. I've been here way too much in the past few months. First Chase, then myself, then Sky, now Mitch.

Ty anf Flame held each other. Jerome held Nicole. Michaela and Jason cried on each other's shoulders. Jesse and Chase were comforting Dawn. Ileyah and Quentin were comforting each other.

Sky wanted comfort, I could see that, and I did, too, but I couldn't sit down. No, I had to pace.

"Libby Hughes?" A doctor asked. I turned to him immiediately.

"How's my cousin?" I asked.

"He's fine. He'll be sore for a few weeks, and needs to be on bed rest for the next week. He's got some stitches, but he's alright." The doctor told us.

We all sighed in relief.

"Alright, well, you can see him now," The doctor said.

We all went inside. Mitch was awake, and was instantly happy to see us.

"You're OK!" Nicole cried, kissing Mitch's face all over. I held in a giggle.

Sky hugged me close to his chest and buried his face into my hair. I felt his tears drop onto my hair.

I touched the back of his neck and trailed my hand down to his cheek.

"Libby, I never thanked you," Dawn said. "For saving me back there."

"Dylan's a pedobear." I said, no laughing came from anyone, thankfully. I was serious. "I wasn't going to let him shoot you, Dawn. Nope. No way. Despite a while back you kissed my boyfriend, you're making my best friend the happiest dood alive, and you're a great friend."

Dawn smiled at me and I smiled back.

"But I couldn't have prevented Mitch from getting stabbed." I sighed.

"Don't blame yourself," Benja said. "He's the sicko that did it, not you."

I grabbed Mitch's hand, the one that Nicole wasn't gripping for dead life, and gave it a gently squeeze.

"I love you Mitch," I said.

"I love you too, cousin." He smiled. "Now, when can I get out of here?"
