Hi, my name is Brinley Sanders. I'm 16 years old and I live in Los Angeles, California. I have lots of hobbies, but my absolute favourite thing to do is sing. In September of 2013, I discovered this boy named Shawn Mendes on Vine. Since then, he has inspired me to follow my dreams of becoming a singer/songwriter.

I jumped in my car and began driving to work. Oh, I forgot to mention. My intentions of becoming a singer aren't working out so well. I'm having a hard time putting myself out there and getting noticed by someone in the music industry. So for now, I'm stuck with being a chamber maid. My mom (who is a single parent) insisted I get a job as soon as I turn 16. We've been struggling with money since my dad has been gone.
The story behind that? Well.. my brother Noah and I were abused by him for years, and we were taken out of our home when I was 12 years old. I haven't had contact with my father since. My mother was also abused by him for years, which eventually made her mentally depressed. She left him and we began our new life in California. My Uncle Jessie moved in to help raise us and make sure my mom is staying sane.
When Noah turned 20, he realized he is responsible enough to take care of me until I turn 18, so he moved me into his apartment with him.
It was hard to leave my mom at such a rough time in her life, but having to raise a teenager while dealing with so many other things didn't seem fair. So as of right now, I live with my 20 year old brother in an apartment in LA.
I've had a pretty rough past, and that's why I'm depending on my future to find some true happiness. I just gotta keep believing in myself, since nobody else does.
