Twenty Six

I felt myself being shaken, and slowly opened my eyes.

"Hey baby, my mom and Aaliyah wanna meet you today. Is that cool?"

I jumped up and looked at him.

"Today!?" I asked, more like shouted.

"Uh yeah" Shawn replied and tilted his head.

I stood up and started pacing. "Oh my god I have so much to do. I have to get ready and then go out and buy them a present and then-"

Shawn interrupted me. "Buy them a present? Why?"

"Just like a nice to meet you gift. I don't know.. I want to impress them."

Shawn walked over to me and grabbed onto my hands.

"Babe.. they're gonna love you okay? You don't need to do anything extra."

I sighed and wrapped my arms around him. "Okay.. Where are we gonna meet them?"

"We're gonna go out for lunch with them at the Food Haus Café at noon." He smiled before walking over to his suitcase and grabbing his clothes for the day.

I nodded in response, before doing the same. He told me to dress casual, so I decided to wear a pair of black leggings and a baby blue sweater from the store pink.

Once I finished getting dressed, I walked into the bathroom, brushed my hair and then straightened it. Lastly I brushed my teeth and put on a little bit of makeup.

I walked out and saw Shawn sitting back down on the bed.

"I think you should invite your family as well." Shawn said, and I gave him a worried look.

"Uhh, not happening. It's bad enough that you had to meet them, I'm not gonna make your family go through the same thing." I replied, sitting next to him and playing with his hair.

He let out a tiny sigh. I know he understands but I guess since his family came all the way here he thinks they should meet each other.

"How about this, my mom's at work until later tonight so I could ask my uncle Jessie and Noah to join us. They're pretty lovable people so everything should be alright."

Shawn's smile lit up. "Thank you thank you thank you" he repeated. "I want my family to meet at least one member of yours."

I nodded understandingly and kissed his lips.

I opened up my phone and sent Noah a text.

To: Noah

Are you and Jess free for lunch?

From: Noah

Yeah we are. Where do you wanna go?

To: Noah

Shawn wanted us to go for lunch with his family at the Food Haus Café at noon.

From: Noah

Sounds good. We'll meet you there at noon.

To: Noah

I told Shawn that they agreed to come, which caused an even brighter smile to glow up on his face.

"I can't wait" he replied.

We just arrived at the restaurant and parked next to Noah's car.
