Thirteen

It's currently 10:30 PM and I'm in the middle of packing for tour.

I can't stress how excited I am to be touring with Shawn. He is one of the most important people in my life right now. I have a lot of people who care about me, but none of them care like he does. He is my best friend in the entire world and he makes me so happy.

I heard my phone buzz on my bedside table, and Shawn's name appear on the screen.

I answered the call and put it on speaker, before setting it back down on the table so I could continue with packing.

"Hey loser" I greeted and smiled to myself.

"Hey loser #2, what's up?"

I placed three more shirts and four more pairs of leggings in my suitcase. "Just packing."

"Me too. We leave in 5 days so be ready!" He replied.

"I will be, I gotta go and get some more stuff together. Goodnight!" I said, now holding the phone up to my ear.

"Goodnight, have a good sleep cutie."

"You too." I replied before hanging up the phone.

The next day

I pulled up out front of Chloe's house, and waited for her to get in the car.

Her, Noah and I are all spending the day together since I'll be leaving for the tour soon and won't see them very much. I mean, they'll definitely come to a few shows, but they both have other things to focus on as well.

"So where are we headed?" Chloe asked as she buckled her seat belt.

"Since Noah has his boat license, I asked a friend of mine if we could borrow his boat and he said yes. I was thinking we could take it down to an island and swim."

Chloe clapped her hands excitedly with a big smile on her face.

We arrived at the marina and found the boat. I haven't been in one in so long!

We jumped in and undocked it, before beginning to drive towards the island.

Noah waved to every person we drove past, Chloe and I following his actions.

I never noticed how friendly boat people are, lol.

We arrived at the island about 10 minutes later.

It looked so beautiful. There was nobody else here except for us.

Noah docked the boat and we all climbed out.

I dipped my foot in the water to feel the temperature, and it was surprisingly really warm.

We all took off our clothes to reveal the bathing suit underneath.

"Who's jumping first?" I asked, but immediately felt myself being lifted into the air and Noah jumping in with me in his arms.

When I resurfaced, I slapped his arm and said "I hate you" with a smirk.

Chloe was still standing on the dock like a lost puppy, so Noah and I each grabbed one of her hands and dragged her in.

She splashed us each once, which ended in a full out splashing war.

Chloe and I gave each other a look, before turning to Noah and both splashing him at the same time.

"HEY!" He yelled and hid his face, releasing a few chuckles.

After about a minute, he lifted both of us in each arm, and then dropped us over his shoulder.

Our screams echoed before we landed in the water, which was replaced by laughing once we surfaced.

We spent the next ten minutes trying to lift and throw him as well.

We fooled around in the water for the next hour, before we decided to eat some lunch.

We sat down at a picnic table beside the dock, and I placed the big picnic basket on the table.

"FOOD!!!" Chloe shouted excitedly as her eyes met with a peanut butter sandwich.

I laughed, and grabbed myself a blue kool-aid jammer from the basket.

"So, are you excited?" Noah asked, looking between me and his sandwich.

"More than excited!" I smiled, but quickly noticed him frown a bit.

"Noah.. What's wrong?"

He didn't say anything. He kept looking at Chloe, and I saw her expressions start to match his.

"Guys.." I began before Chloe interrupted.

"We're just gonna miss you. That's it. One day you're just a normal girl, and the next you're a big time celebrity going on tour with someone we used to cry about over the phone at midnight. This is just a big change for us.."

I looked down at my hands, not really knowing how to respond. I knew they'd miss me, but I didn't exactly put myself in their shoes.

"I'm sorry.. I forgot to think about your guys' feelings as well. You're so used to seeing me everyday. This will be a BIG change. But guys.. This has been my dream for a while. Since I was a little girl. For years I didn't let anyone hear my voice because I didn't think I was good enough. Now that I'm being proven wrong by going on a worldwide and sold out tour, I can't let the opportunity go to waste."

I instantly saw Noah get up from the other side of the table and walk over to wrap me in his arms.

"Brin.. You're my little sister and I would do anything to make you happy. I was in no way implying that you're making the wrong choice. Because honestly, this is probably the smartest choice you've ever made. As much as I'm gonna miss you, I am so glad your dreams are coming true."

I wrapped him in my arms, and felt Chloe come and join.

"I agree.. You're gonna do amazing. And we'll be there cheering you on. Whether we're in the same building or in a different country. We're always going to be your biggest fans."

I hugged my best friends once again, and quietly said "I love you both so much."
