Sixteen

"What's the news?!" Chloe screamed impatiently.

I sat her down on my bed with an excited smile. Her reaction is gonna be priceless.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes. "I've been ready since you told me that you had news. Spill it!"

"Okay.. Shawn asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes."

She jumped off the bed and screamed "FINALLY" while jumping around.

"What?" I laughed.

"You guys have been inseparable for half a year. I knew it was gonna happen eventually. So did the twins."

I looked down at my lap and smiled. Was it that obvious that I fell for him? I guess so.

"Congrats Brin!!" She announced and hugged me tight.

"Thank you! It honestly feels like a dream. You and I used to stay up until 4am nonstop fangirling over this kid. Then when I became known, I was in the same position as him so we kinda just stopped. But I never realized how much more there was to learn about him. As fangirls we used to think we knew EVERYTHING but we were so wrong. I feel so blessed to have gotten to know him better, and now to have an opportunity like this."

She listened to every word I said, taking in all of it. She is just as happy as I am.

I told Noah and the twins the news. I decided to hold off on telling my mom until it was serious.

Who knows, maybe this whole relationship thing won't even work out.

But I sure as hell hope it does..

We're in Houston today for the show, and I'm extremely excited.

I haven't travelled very much in the past 16 years. Once my fanbase started growing, I was given a lot of opportunities. But sadly I could only take a handful of them.

My mom has always been very protective of me my whole life, and the thought of me being away from Los Angeles scared her a lot.

Noah is the one who told her the news that I was going on tour with Shawn. Apparently she flipped, but she doesn't exactly have a say. Noah has been more like a parent to me recently, and is old enough to be my legal guardian. Technically if he gives me permission to tour, then I'm allowed to.

I stepped into mine and Shawn's hotel room, and noticed that nobody was in there.

I laid down on my bed and turned on the tv.

After about ten minutes, I heard a knock at the door.

I got up and opened it, and was greeted by Maggie.

"Hey! Come in." I said, and she gladly did as she was told.

"How're you?" She smiled as she sat on the edge of the bed.

I joined her, before replying. "Good! Really good actually. Everything seems to be going in the right direction with the tour and just life in general."

"I heard about you and Shawn." she began. "I'm so happy for you both!"

I smiled down at my hands, and quickly looked back up to say "thank you. It's honestly pretty hard to believe. Did you know I used to be one of his biggest fans?"

She laughed "haha wow, this must be an adjustment then. You know, spending time with him and being friends."

I shrugged, "ehh not really. Once we both had the same career and I was living a similar life to his, it started feeling a little more normal. When we first became friends I was definitely in shock, but it only took about a month to get used to it."
