Thirty

Tonight is our show in Baltimore.

I walked backstage and grabbed myself a water bottle from the mini fridge.

"I could have grabbed that for you" Cameron walked up behind me and looked at the water bottle. "I am your assistant."

"It's ok" I replied with a chuckle.

He nodded and smiled, before walking away to find something to do.

I heard a faint sound, and soon realized it was Shawn singing. It sounded distant and I wanted to know where it was coming from.

I walked towards the bathroom, but the sound got even farther away.

Next I slowly approached his dressing room, and I could clearly hear him singing nice and loud.

I waited outside the door for him to walk out.

Once he did, I scared him and shouted "BOO!"

He jumped back with a frightened look on his face, which quickly turned to a smile when he saw it was me.

He wrapped his hands around my waist and rested his forehead on mine.

"Never do that again" he laughed and kissed my lips.

I smirked a little bit. "Save your amazing vocals for tonight baby."

He rolled his eyes like a little kid. "Fineeeee" he dragged on, "I just wanted to show off."

I laughed before pulling away and grabbed my phone and water bottle off the small coffee table.

"Show time" a stage manager announced to us.

"I know what you did last summer, just lie to me there is no other. I know what you did last summer, tell me where you've been. I know what you did last summer, look me in the eyes, my lover. I know what you did last summer, tell me where you've been."

We finished off the introduction, and decided we'd let the fans choose the next song.

"Ok we're gonna let you guys pick what we sing next. Your options are The Weight, Aftertaste and Kid in Love." Shawn explained.

"Scream if you want.. The Weight" I announced.

There were a lot of loud screams.

"Aftertaste" Shawn said next.

Again, there were lots of loud screams. But it was obvious that a lot of people hadn't participated yet.

We both looked at each other and said "Kid In Love" at the same time.

Screams filled the entire room. I could hear thousands of people.

"Kid in love it is" I laughed into the mic.

Shawn began strumming his guitar, and I told him to start the song.

"I know that we just met, and maybe this is dumb. But it feels like there was something from the moment that we touched, it's alright, it's alright, I wanna make you mine."

My solo was the next verse.. "The way you're lightin' up the room, caught the corner of my eye. We can both sneak out the back door, we don't have to say goodbye, 'Cause, it's alright, it's alright, to waste time tonight."

We sang the rest of the song together. "Maybe I'm just a kid in love, maybe I'm just a kid in love, oh, baby. If this is what it's like falling in love, then I don't ever wanna grow up. Maybe I'm just a kid in love, maybe I'm just a kid in love. Oh baby, It'd be cool if it's the two of us, but I don't ever wanna grow up."

We finished off the song as strong as possible, and heard the room fill with screams.

I love this job. I love touring with my best friends and singing for all of my beautiful fans. I will never take this opportunity for granted, I am so grateful for everything that has happened within the past year.

"How're you beautiful people doing out there?" I asked, and heard the sound of more energetic fans fill the room.

"Awesome, because I'm gonna need every ounce of energy you have. So far at every stop we've taken a video of the crowd. We want you to look like one of the loudest shows so far. Can you guys do that?"

Everyone cheered, and Shawn and I both got our phones ready.

"1,2,3!" I counted down.

The crowd went louder than they have all night. We both scanned the whole audience, and then at the very end turned to face our phones at each other. I was featuring in his video and he was featuring in mine.

"Amazing job guys" Shawn announced to the fans and we both put out phone in our pockets.

"Cheers to an amazing show" Shawn spoke next to me. He held up his cup of Pepsi, and I clinked mine against it.

"It really was a good show" I smiled and cuddled into his chest.

We were back on the tour bus in the bunk that Shawn and I were now sharing, heading for the airport.

"Shawn.." I began, sitting up and looking at him with a serious face.

"Yes?" He replied, waiting for me to continue.

"We only have one more show left." I looked down at my hands and didn't say anything else.

Shawn sat up as well and pulled me into him, so that I was basically sitting in his lap facing away from him. He rested his chin on my shoulder.

"It's going to be amazing" he kissed my cheek and held me tight.

."I'm gonna miss you." I whispered.

He put his hand on my face and pushed it lightly, getting me to look up at him.

"I'm not going anywhere. ever." he reassured me.

I smiled to myself at the thought of having an amazing boy like him in my life.

"Promise?" I asked.

"Promise."
