7 months later~

"THANK YOU NEW YORK" I shouted into the microphone, before walking off stage.

Within the past couple months, my career has skyrocketed.

I made my YouTube channel, and in a little over a month, I had two million subscribers.

Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber's manager) contacted me and asked if I would sign with him. I was so overwhelmed, but couldn't let the opportunity go to waste.

I've done shows in cities I have always dreamed of visiting. He has helped make my dreams come true, and I am so grateful.

"Good show Brin" my best friend Ethan Dolan greeted me with a hug backstage.

"Thanks" I smiled at him, before seeing Scooter walk up behind him.

"Best show yet kid" he gave me a high five, before walking away.

I grabbed my water bottle off of a coffee table, and decided to go stand on the rooftop to get some fresh air.

When I stepped outside, the sounds of the city filled my ears.

I walked to the edge of the building, and took a picture of all the bright lights.

I posted it on Instagram with the caption 'you guys have made my future bright, and I am forever grateful.'

As the movie 'Pitch Perfect' played in the background, I laid in bed and began scrolling through Twitter.

I love spending about an hour each night noticing some of my fans. I know how much it means to them, and I'd do anything to make them happy.

I was looking through my notifications, when I saw a tweet that caught my attention.

@mendesanders
Have you listened to Shawn's new album yet?!

Hmm.. I haven't really been keeping up with him the last few months. I've kinda put my fangirling life behind me, and my career ahead of me.

But I guess it would be nice to listen to some new Shawn music. He is the one who inspired me to do what I do in the first place.

I opened iTunes, and purchased his album 'Handwritten.'

Once it all finished downloading, I hit shuffle, laid down in bed, and started listening.

45 minutes later~

The last song came to an end. WOW, that was amazing.

I'm actually very proud of him. When I was a fangirl, he only had a few songs.

I decided to open my Twitter, and congratulate him.

@BrinleySanders
Congratulations on your new album @ShawnMendes! I remember when I was a big fan, and would listen to your music over and over. Proud to see how much you've grown!

Once the tweet sent, I put my phone away and went to sleep.

The next morning

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I turned it off, and checked my phone.

'Mentioned by @ShawnMendes' was one of the notifications.

@ShawnMendes
Wow thank you! Can you DM me?

As confused as I was, I clicked on his profile and went to his DMs. He had already sent a message.

Hi Brinley! Thank you for tweeting me, are you performing at 'Show of the Summer'?

Remembering that Scooter asked me to perform at the concert, I replied with 'Yes I am!'

After a few minutes, I got a response.

'omg so am I! I'll see you there.'

A smile appeared on my face as I thought about performing at the same place as one of the people I used to be obsessed with. It reminds me how much my life has changed, and how grateful I am for my dreams becoming reality.
