*Carrie-Lee's POV*

I take a deep breath and open my mouth to sing.

Wake up to a sunny day,

Not a cloud up in the sky,

But then it starts to rain.

My defenses hit the ground,

And they shatter all around.

So open and exposed.

Found strength in the struggle.

Face to face with my troubles.

I sing the words as best as I can, holding my left hand over my stomach, a nervous habit I picked up years ago. I eventually lose all the feelings of nervousness, and I gain confidence I never knew I had. When the chorus comes, I put all I have into it and just let go, forgetting about my brothers watching me in awe.

When you're broken,

In a million little pieces,

And you're tryin',

But you can't hold on anymore.

Every tear, falls down for a reason

Don't just stop believing in yourself.

When you're broken..

I take another breath with the short playing of music before I start to sing again. I have a few tears on my cheeks from singing the chorus already, but I feel my eyes getting more and more wet, as the song means so much to me.

Little girl don't be so blue.

I know what you're going through.

Don't let it beat you up..

Hittin' walls and getting scars,

only makes you who you are.

Makes you who you are..

No matter how much your heart is aching..

There is beauty in the breaking..

Yeahh!

When you're broken,

In a million little pieces,

And you're tryin',

But you can't hold on anymore!

Every tear,

Falls down for a reason!

Don't just stop believing in yourself..

When you're broken..

Better days are gunna find you once again..

Every piece will find its place..

When you're broken..

When you're broken..

Hmhmm..

When you're broken,

In a million little pieces
