Pushing Boundaries
There's only so much that I can take
Before it all begins to break
You can only push so far
Before it all begins to fall apart
Everything comes to an end
A point past which it cannot bend
Sometimes it's a hidden ledge
The shadow of a tall cliff's edge
Watch carefully where you tread
Into the calm blue ocean don't be led
One look can't take in it's true depth
One mistake and you'll fall to your death
Once into the murky water you are swept
Or into it's icy grasp you have leapt
There's no use for the tears you once wept
Lost out in the choppy sea
is what you will forever be
Once caught in the current you'll never get free
Stay inside the line
Like a tall and sturdy pine
Don't let temptation pull you across
Tell curiosity who's the boss
We all have have lines that can't be crossed
And times when we are feeling lost
Don't push too hard
Or go too far
Some matters hit too close to home
And need to stay in a sheltered dome
Some wounds are simply just too fresh
To be prodded poked and pressed
Some things are better left unknown
They can cut you to the bone
Some secrets are better left untold
Stories need time to unfold
People need their time to grow
They're not like grass you need to mow
It doesn't help them to be bold
Some things don't need to be told
