Ch. 30

Mason

~~~~UNEDITED~~~~
          It wasn’t my intentions to storm out on her. I didn’t mean to leave things like that, especially since she was in the hospital. But I settled for the fact that I would see her tomorrow and make it right then.
          Cooper knocked on my door, nearly scaring me half to death. “How’s Alex?” he asked and if I wouldn’t have been paying attention, I wouldn’t have noticed the hint of his voice that showed he actually cared.
          “I don’t know. I think she’s doing ok.” That was my pitiful answer. It screamed “I’m having relationship problems!”
          He gave me a glare. I knew my pathetic explanation wouldn’t cut it. “Did you screw things up with her? Really?” There was disbelief and pity in his voice.
          “I don’t need this from you right now.” Cooper just shook his head, leaving me alone.
          It was only about eight o’clock, but I was exhausted. Seconds after I lay down in my bed, the doorbell rang. Bolting up, I sped to the door, not wanting Cooper to answer it. I really hoped it was Alex.
          But instead, much to my surprise and dismay, it was Natalie. Instantly I tensed up. She was looking for trouble, I could just tell.
          “Mason, I just came to talk,” she said quickly noticing the tension and trying to avoid getting the door slammed in her face.
          “So talk,” I said, giving her the chance.
          “Can I at least have the dignity to talk somewhere a little bit more private?” Of course that’s what she wanted. There were always complications with Natalie.
          “Sure,” I sighed, shaking my head. The only private room in the house was my room and I had a feeling that Natalie knew that. “Let’s make this quick,” I said once we got in there. She looked like she had some big speech prepared, so I lay down on my bed, waiting for her to start.
          I closed my eyes, running my hand through my hair. I was startled to see that Natalie was right on top of me when I opened my eyes. She moved so briskly that I didn’t even notice.
          Before I could register anything, she pulled my shirt up, running her hands up and down my stomach, and then smashed her lips down on mine. It took me a few seconds to get past the shock before I reacted. Shoving her off of me was putting it nicely. She nearly rolled off my bed.
          “What the hell was that for?” I asked, trying to mask my anger. She didn’t deserve the significance of knowing that she had gotten to me. She just smiled sheepishly at me, giggling like a little girl.
          “Get out. Get the hell out before I personally pull an Alex.” Yes, I referenced my girlfriend and threatened to hit a girl. It really was a rough day.
          She waltzed out with a smirk on her face as if she was now satisfied. Great, I thought as I watched her walk away. This would be going all around the school by tomorrow.
