Ch. 10
Alex
~~~~UNEDITED~~~~
I sat across from Amanda at lunch and looked over at Natalie, who had Samantha sitting across from her yet they weren’t conversing. I wondered if I wasn’t the only one who disliked her.
Once everybody sat down at the table, I made an announcement. "Are you guys doing anything on Friday?" Amanda, Samantha, Rose, and Lily shook their heads no. "Good," I said with a smile. "Then sleepover at my place?"
"I’m in!" Rose piped up.
"Me too!" Amanda sounded thrilled.
"I’ll be there!” Samantha said.
"Me too," Lily said quietly but still excited.
"Good! Movie or mall?" I asked, thankful that Natalie hadn’t included herself.
"Both!" Rose exclaimed scooting over to the seat that Lucas usually sat. Lily and Samantha scooted over too. I felt bad, though, as much as I hated to admit it, because Natalie was all by herself. I guess that’s what she got. I mean, it was evident that no one was really that big of a fan of her. If they were they would have included her. Guess bitches aren’t as popular as the think.
"So we going to the mall and the movies and chill at my house?" I asked, making sure that this suited everyone.
“Yup!" they all cheered.
"Great! I'll have my chauffer pick us up after school on Friday.” I said. I was excited about this whole thing with my friends, but I knew I was giving up my walk home with Mason. I had to tell my dad, or maybe Mason could drive us... I just wanted to see him. What if he met us there? I thought to myself, knowing that it would ruin the girls time together and possibly destroy his relationship with Natalie, which it was evident that he didn’t want to do.
..............
I grabbed at Mason's side for his hand. "Your dad doesn’t care that you’re out?"
"I told him I was with a friend." I said. Mason turned to look at me. His deep brown eyes gazed into mine. I looked away, trying not to seem like I care.
“What’s wrong?”
“Mason, you’re with Natalie. And it’s pretty clear to me and to everyone else in the school that that isn’t about to change.”
“What if it did?” Mason challenged, smirking.
“It won’t. And if it does, I don’t want to be the cause of it.” I turned my face away because I knew that I was going to cry. I started to walk away, but I heard Mason come up behind me. He placed his hand gingerly on my shoulder.
“Alex, please.” He said, starting to turn me to him.
“Please what? Watch you make out with your girlfriend in the hallway? Pretending like we never kissed. Pretending doesn’t change what happened Mason, as much as you may want it to be.” Anger rushed through me and I walked away with pride.
“But I don’t want it to change.” I couldn’t help but stop in my tracks. All my plans of making an exit were gone. I continued walking because I knew that I would give in, and that’s not what I do.
As I walked away I had the same thought on my mind. Natalie. Why would Mason bother with any other girl unless he was a player? I was used to them, that’s for sure. I knew how they worked. Mason didn’t really strike me as someone like that. I was pretty, don’t get me wrong. I have qualities that no one else could have. But Natalie was better in every other way that I wasn’t... She had beautiful naturally straight blonde hair and a size 0 figure. She was beautiful, and in my opinion, she should be with the star player on the football team.
I hated to admit it to myself. I have messy wavy hair that I straighten to make look good, I wasn’t a size 0 but a size 2. I seemed to be just one step down from her on everything.
I walked in the door and heard my dad barking orders into his phone. He was yelling at someone about getting a chauffeur. Now, normally I would have paid attention and eavesdropped, but I was too caught up in my thoughts.
So I just wanted to thank my one fan @Samira19 who has been really dedicated to this story! I'm glad that you like it!
I also wanted to say that I have planned most of this book out and spent a lot of time writing chapters that I haven't yet posted. It will get better if you don't like it now :)
How I became inspired again I'm not really sure, but probably because I really just don't want to write the next chapter to one of my other stories so ya.
Thank you guys so much for commenting and voting and fanning! I really want to hear your feedback :)
