 I walked out of English 11 and saw Natalie at my locker waiting for me.

 “Hey,” she said, smiling, and leaning up to kiss me.

 “Hey,” 

 “Have you met the new bitch?”

 “Yeah, why?”

 “She’s a bitch,” I just smiled. Natalie passed judgment way too quickly on people. Natalie just stared at me, waiting for me to answer. When I just kept staring at her, I could sense her anger.

 “Aren’t you going to say anything?” she asked pressingly.

 “I don’t feel like doing this right now,” I said, as I walked away from her.

 I knew she was angry with me, but for some reason it didn’t affect me as I headed to science. I walked in late. I didn’t care, but every seat was full, except for the one next to Alex. I walked over and sat down casually, trying to act like I wasn’t bothered by sitting to the girl my girlfriend hated most.

 Alex just smiled at me, and said, “Get caught up in the hallways?” Her question sounded way more sarcastic than actual.

 “I guess,” she just smirked.

 “I hear that you have met my girlfriend?”

 “Natalie? Yeah, I’ve met her. Although she doesn’t like me, that much I can tell.” I just laughed.

 “So it is true…?”

 “That Natalie is my girlfriend? Yeah, it’s true.” This time, she laughed.

 “What?”

 “Nothing… I just have to walk home by myself today,” Alex said, quickly changing the subject.

 “Why?”

 “Now isn’t that a stupid question?” I thought about it, and it truly was.

 “Where do you live?” I asked, and felt guilty of myself for asking.

 “Just down the street…”

 “I can walk you home,” I said, not believe the words came out of my mouth.

 “Ok,” she smiled, and turned away from me.
