There's a certain momentary effect of existence that makes it painful to think of the extent of. The extent of your existence is only equal to those who recognize your existence. For mankind to comprehend that the universe knows no limits and you are not the center of it is simply not a possibility with our limited understanding of our own presence in it. Your insignificant presence in it is simply a fact by science. We find comfort in philosophy because it insures of an importance on one end while the other end causes us to think about these things. To think about how little time you are here in scheme of things and how small "here" really is. By the time you feel you've understood anything about yourself or the world by recognizing it you've caused it to change. By the time you realize who you are you are no longer the person who you were before you knew this and therefore this information no longer hold value. The more you learn the less you will know. As you open doors of thoughts the area of your ignorance will expand so to speak. But you will only ever exist in your current mind that we know of. If you can only exist as far as you're known, then those you reach reach well. I will leave with one question. If no one and nothing knew you existed, would you really exist? Could you prove it?
