CHAPTER 48 - Hunger X Consumes

Tenshi's P.O.V.

I had killed about 2 Chimera Ants until I started feeling a bit strange as I see the blood that splattered on the floor. It felt like the smell of the blood was intoxicating and just mouth watering. I felt so hungry but I did not know what I was hungry for. It confused me. I haven't had a decent meal since I was young. Why now?

While I was killing more Chimera Ants, I got even more hungry. My stomach churned uneasily and made loud roars. My mind was telling me to eat but I didn't know what to eat.

I kept my face neutral until I see something that I won't ever forget. Chairman Netero was there on the floor all burnt and I knew for sure he was dead. He was the only person I saw as my fatherly figure and cared for me like an actual father who taught me Nen so I can protect myself from other Nen users.

All I saw was red at that moment. I turn to see many Chimera Ants blocking a door and I knew that was the room where the King was. All my senses became numb and I let the hunger overcome me.

I also wanted to see what exactly I was hungry for but right when I let my hunger consume me, everything went completely blank and I felt like I was locked in the back of my mind and it just didn't feel like I had control over my body anymore.

Killua's P.O.V.

I watch silently as there was no sign of Tenshi or any Chimera Ant though I heard many screams and other disturbing sounds. My nerves were skyrocketing at the moment because that girl can be emotionally unstable at times.

This dome thing was angering me bit by bit when I tried as hard as I could to get in. No matter what I did, I couldn't get in. The dome didn't have a single scratch after the many blows we all tried to get in. Nothing worked. Nothing at all.

"Where is she?!" Ren raged with fire enveloping him. His body was getting larger and larger which scared the citizens of NGL.

"Why is she taking so long?!" Kurapika growled with his eyes flickering scarlet. His hands were clenched into fists and blood was already trailing down.

"This stupid dome!" The man, Feitan, if I remembered correctly, said through clenched teeth. His expression was blank but his eyes showed how angry he was. Even if it was just a little, I saw it.

Why was a Phantom member even here? I didn't know and I plan to find out later on. This is not a time to think about that.

Gon was just in front of the dome with somewhat worried yet angry eyes. He was silent which wasn't a good thing. I know he is angry that Tenshi stopped him from killing Pitou but he was seriously worried for Tenshi. She was just kidnapped by Ryoko and she is already off fighting strong opponents. Ren and Kurapika explained what happened and it just made the situation worst. She has been unconscious since that day. She just woke up!

She should've rested before coming here! Yet she ignored her own health and came for the rescue! I feel so useless! She is strong and can definitely do the impossible with her abilities and strength but she is also emotionally unstable. She can get hurt too. She isn't always strong.

"Be patient. Let the girl be. If she did this then she should be able to handle it herself." Morel spoke up and we slowly nodded but I knew that we did not truly listen to him. We are worried for Tenshi. She is too precious to us. She is our angel that helps us smile all the time. She is our light. Gon and Tenshi are my main light. They can never be replaced. No matter what.

Tenshi was a hard one to crack open and once she finally opened ip, I couldn't find a way to forget or hate her. The thought of it just made me shiver. Just thinking of it made me feel incomplete. I need Tenshi in my like how I need Gon. They are my two best friends.

The many memories I had with her over the short time we have met rushed through my mind and I would sometimes smile at the thought. It was just amazing how two people can be so important to me in such short time.

My thoughts were then cut off at a loud sound of screams coming this way. I turn to the dome to see a bunch of Chimera Ants running to us. They all bumped into the dome and screamed for help.

"Please help us get out! Don't let us be consumed by that monster! Please!" One begged at scratched on the dome with all its might that his hands started to bleed.

My brows furrow in confusion. What are they talking about? What monster? Consume? Is it possible that there is a Chimera Ant that is trying to eat them? Is Tenshi okay? Is she safe? Did she get hurt? Is she fighting that monster right now? Will she be okay? Is the monster strong like Tenshi?

All these questions seem to swarm my head and it made me have a huge headache. I look over at the others to see them confused as well. The civilians left to go farther away from the terrific scene of the monsters who killed many of their people so it was only a few left and they were all Nen Users.

"Who are you running away from?" Kurapika asked calmly but his eyes were blazing with hatred and worry for Tenshi. The Chimera Ants scream and push each other until one of them answers.

"A monster! I don't know what it is but it's dangerous! Please help us! It already killed most of us! Even the royal guards and the King!" At the mention of that, everyone went silent and worry consumed us all.

Tenshi...

"TENSHI!!!!" We all shouted in worry and panic. What if the monster got to her?!

We heard rustling and out came the monster but we didn't expect what such sight.
