CHAPTER 21 - Closer X Stronger

Kurapika's P.O.V.

When Tenshi's lizard/snake thing told me that Tenshi would spend the next 5 months with me, I felt so happy. I didn't know why I felt so glad that Tenshi was going to be with me. I just felt like my world became brighter and complete.

But why did I feel this way? Was it because I know a friend is with me? Is it because I am close to learning and mastering Nen? Or is it because Tenshi was the one with me?

It can't be right?

4 months later

Tenshi's P.O.V.

"Mizuken, it has almost been 6 months. I am going to leave right when the last month is over to go back to York New City and search for a job." Kurapika said. Mizuken had a straight face on as Kurapika stared back looking serious.

"Fine. Whatever you want or do is none of my concern." After a few moments of silence, Mizuken finally replied and walked away. He probably went to go get another beer or something.

"Tenshi, you are accompanying me to York New City, am I right?" I nod in reply. He gives out a smile and walks up to me.

"Good." He muttered but I still heard. He suddenly pulls me into a hug which made me a little shock.

Along the 4 months that passed by oh so painfully quick, Kurapika and I became closer to the point where we instinctively look for each other if the other is missing. We are somewhat inseparable. Mizuken would always tease us, saying that we are exactly like a married couple or something and to just date since we already act like we are in a relationship.

"As long as you're with me..." He sighed happily next to my ear. His breath tickled me and I let out a little giggle. I felt Kurapika smile as he heard me laugh.

"Why does it feel like this is the first time I heard your laugh?" He asked ever so gently like if he said it too loudly, I would break.

I remember the first time I let out a giggle in front of Kurapika. He was so shocked and gave me that awed look like it was the most unexpected thing in the whole world. After that, I somehow let more giggles out but only in front of Kurapika.

I gave him a shrug and he sends me another smile. I smiled in return even though I know that he can't see it since I am wearing my cloak with my hoodie on top of my head like always.

"Okay, that's it. Let her go already." Ren growled. Ren was in his medium size which is as tall as Kurapika.

"You again? Stop bothering us..." Kurapika grumbled. Ren's glare became more stern as Kurapika tightened his grip on our hug.

"You're pushing it blondie." Ren was about to land a hit on Kurapika but I quickly grabbed his big scaly claw. I raise my head a bit so only my eyes could be seen and sent a dissaproval look. He lowered his head as an apology with an angry yet sad look.

You see, over the months that passed, Kurapika and I did get closer but Kurapika and Ren became more far apart. They faught and argued constantly with each other which annoyed Mizuken to no end that every time he hears either one of them screaming, he gets up and runs far away.

"Kurapika, let's go back to training. Tenshi......just do whatever you do every time we train." Mizuken pops out and said. I just nod and reluctantly let go of Kurapika's warm hug.

Kurapika frowned as I separated myself from him. Before I completely left, I waved goodbye to Kurapika who was watching me leave. He waved back then turned to start his training. Ren shrunk in size and crawled up to my shoulder in delight. I raise an eyebrow at him but he just shrugs with a sly smile. I just look forward until I felt Ren look over behind us. I look to see Ren sticking his tongue at Kurapika who was glaring back at him. I smile and laugh a little at their childishness.

I went further into the forest and farther away from Kurapika. My feet start to speed up into a sprint as I was craving for some exercise and some wind in my hair.

The trees passed by in a blur as I swing through trees and jump over logs and branches. I see a huge river so I start speeding up and jumped over the roaring waters. I smile as I land safely on the ground because the first time I tried... let's just say I fell face first and got in trouble by Kurapika and heard a huge lecture on taking care of myself.

Finally, I make a stop at my regular training area which was now clear since I practically kicked or punched every tree to the point where there was nothing left of it, not even a stump. There were just craters everywhere.

"What will you be training this time?" Ren asked as he got out of my hood and onto the ground. His red scales were a tone lighter and he looked a bit sick. I guess he's still not used to me running yet.

"I'm not sure... I've mastered all my tricks already during these past few months." My voice was monotone due to how right I am. Ren smiled widely and punched the air, cheering and celebrating that he won't get hurt again. You must be confused. Let's just say I've been training all my new techniques and the person I've been practicing them on was Ren so he would always be scared for our training session. I sat down along with Ren and just stared at the forest.

There was only silence except for the wind blowing and the sound of nature. Everything felt so perfect as I finally got the time to actually think how fast my life changed from being hell to something so perfect.

I have Ren, Gon, Killua, Leorio, Chairman Netero, and.... Kurapika. Though it was such a small amount of people, the friendship, the love that they have showed and given me gave me a whole lot of life into me.

Everything that I used to know was all gone and was replaced to something better. I know that my past can still haunt me but I got stronger and.... I know I sound cheesy but the people with me are my new strength. They are the reason why I'm still going on with my life.

If I didn't meet such people, I think I would've been going crazy. I might have gone and sided with Ryoko. I shivered in disgust and fear just by the thought of it.

"Master, it's already time to leave." Ren's voice interrupted. My eyes become wide as I realize how dark it was.

I violently stood up which made Ren, who was sitting on my lap, to fall to the ground with a 'thud.'

"Well, thank you for thinking about my safety, Master." Ren said with sarcasm. I would've laughed at him but all I did was send a gentle smile over to him.

"Sorry, Ren." I spoke. Ren widen his eyes and turned away muttering that it was okay and that he forgives me.

I grab Ren and put him at my neck and immediately started to run. I could feel his claws scratch onto my neck as he tried so hard to not let go.

I reached Kurapika in record speed but the look of my blonde haired friend gave me the idea that a long lecture was coming my way. I sigh with a pout as Kurapika rants on and on. I smile a little though. At least he cares.
