I gasped slightly and looked at where me and Liam were touching. I dropped his hands and stood up awkwardly. Harry bounded towards us with a stern face. I stepped in front of him and placed my hands on his chest. Liam had stood up to and began backing away with his hands up.
"Harry. Harry. Calm down you're over reacting."
He took a deep breath and looked me in the eyes.
"Fine. Then explain. Because from what I saw I'm not over reacting."
I took a deep breath and explained the situation. Harry facial expressions didn't change but I knew by the way his breathing changed that he had calmed down.
"Im sorry man. I didn't know." Liam said taking cautious steps forward.
Harry didn't respond. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close enough to whisper into my ear.
"I'll be waiting in the car. You finish up here. I have someone I want you to meet."
He broke his grimace to wink at me and kiss my cheek. But then the grimace returned when he glanced at Liam one last time before he turned to leave.
"Jesus.. Your boyfriend is intense." Liam said with a nervous laugh as he ran his fingers through is light brown hair.
"I know.. He just gets protective."
"Does he get.. Aggressive?" He said in almost a whisper as he looked at me with concern.
I gave him a confused look but then understood what he meant.
"Oh! No no no no! He's nothing like that. He just wants to make sure I'm safe. And not cheating on him." I said with a chuckle. Liam laughed as well and brought his attention back to Chapin.
"Well I actually have to go. I'll leave you and Chapin to get to know each other better." I said smiling before I gave him a hug and turned to leave.
I walked down the side walk until I saw Harry's familiar vehicle. I opened the door and got in the passengers seat.
"Why hello lovely." He said with a smile as he turned the key in the ignition.
"Hello. Although I did miss you, I'd rather you didn't scare the shit out of my guests." I said putting on my seat belt.
"I thought something was going on. I apologized didn't I?" He pulled out of the parking spot and began driving down the road.
"Actually you didn't."
"Oh.. Oops." He shrugged his shoulders and fought a smile. A battle he lost quickly.
"You're an ass." I responded.
"I'm your ass." He said with a smile.
I shook my head and looked out of the window at the passing trees and people. I inhale the scent of the pine tree shaped air-freshener hung around his review mirror. Green apple. I ran my fingers through my hair and turned my attention back to the boy sitting next to me.
"Hey where are we going?"
"I want you to meet my cousin." He said excitedly.
"Really? Wait.. Which one?"
"The one who helped me get into the US." He said.
"Oh so shes very special." I said nodding my head with a slight smile.
"She is." He said smiling.
We pulled up to a large black house with white borders on the windows. It had two floors and the sprinklers were on. I heard small thuds coming from inside the house and then the front door bursted open.
"HARRY!" A small girl with dark brown hair came rushing out of the door. Harry smiled wide at her and opened his arms as she jumped on him.
"Where have you been hiding?! How's my favorite monkey been?" She asked as she ruffled his hair.
"I've been good Gem. But I'm actually here to introduce you to someone."
He stepped aside and motioned towards me.
"This is Alex." He said with a proud smile.
The girls eyes widened. And she walked towards me.
"So this is the famous Alex who has brought my cousin out of his antisocial little shell. I'm Gemma, it's a pleasure to meet you." She said as she took both my hands.
"I've heard nothing but great things about you." She said as she pulled me in for a hug.
"The same for you." I said returning the hug.
"Would you like to come inside?" She asked gesturing towards the house.
"No. We'd love to cha right here on the lawn." Harry answered sarcastically with a smirk.
"Oh shut the fuck up." Gemma chuckled.
