Chapter 16

Alex

The party continued but peopled started clearing out, soon it was only Mer, Maggie, Jackson, April, their daughter, and of course Mers kids and me. We all put all of the kids to bed and we were sitting and talking about the "old days". 

"You want to know what I miss about the 'olden days'?" April asked "I miss the people." "I think we all do." Maggie said "Oh you don't even know how many people we have lost Maggie." I said shaking my head and taking a drink of my beer. "How many people have you all lost?" She asked "Doc, Denny, Ellis, My 'pretend mom', George, Lexie, Mark, Heather Brooks, Adele, Derek." Meredith said "Jo." i said adding on to the list "Samuel." April said adding even more and looking down at the ground "Who was Samuel?" Maggie asked looking confused probably trying to figure out who all those people were that we have lost. "Our son." Jackson said looking at April "We have also lost all the people that have left." I said "At least they're still alive" Meredith said "Who has left?" Maggie asked another question. "Izzie, Burke, Teddy, and Christina." I told her. "Im sorry I have to ask more questions I just want to know who these people were." "It's okay its nice to talk about them once in awhile to be honest." I said and everyone else nodded "Who was Mark?" "My sisters Lexie's soul mate the love of her life, Derek's best friend, he was a part of the dirty mistresses club." meredith said smiling to herself. "And he died in the plane crash with your other sister?" maggie asked "Yes it was after we got home but yeah it was because of the plane crash." Meredith said "I'm sorry you guys have had to go through all of these people." Maggie said "Me to, me to." I said. We kept talking a while longer.

"Okay well we better be getting home." Jackson said holding his daughter who was sleeping on his shoulder and holding Aprils hand. "Okay Goodnight." Mer said while opening the door for them "Goodnight." We all said as they left to go to their home. "I'm going to bed to I have work in the morning." Maggie said "Goodnight." me and Mer both said and she walked up the stairs.

"I miss them." I said "me too." Meredith joined in and I put my arm around her and she put her head on my shoulder. "Can I move in?" I asked and she looked at me "I just can't go back their everything reminds me of her. If you don't want me.." and then she interrupted me "Yes you can move in you can stay in Amelias old room and you have to get Addys crib and she can stay in your room and when she gets older her and the other kids can share a room. Maggies not going to be happy about staying in the attic but she'll be fine It's no problem Alex like I said you're my person and we can help each other out." "Thanks Mer." and we stayed sitting their for a long time just talking.
