Chapter 28

Alex

After the left the attic I felt weird, I mean of course I felt weird I was dead, but different like something was missing.

I walked out looking around the house and I walked into my old bedroom, it still had Addy's crib set up and everything else I put in there when she was little.

I leaded over the crib and looked in there was oddly enough a baby in there,  a boy.

Then I heard the door close behind me and I turned around. I stood there dumbfounded looking at her.

"Alex." She said almost sighing with tears in her eyes. She walked up to me and hugged me.

I then snapped out of it and hugged her back probably as tight as I have ever hugged someone.

I sniffed her, oh how I missed that smell, she pulled back and smiled at me a tear running down her cheek, oh how I missed that smile.

"How's our baby girl?" She asks.

A tear escapes my eye. I hug her once again.

"She misses her mom so much." I tell her and she lets out a sad laugh. "You have been doing such a great job with her." She tells me and I pull back.

"You can see us?" I ask "yes, of course that's practically what we do all day." She tells me as she lets out a small chuckle.

"She's so beautiful." She tells me and I nod "just like her mother." And she smiles.

I lean in and kiss her, oh how I've missed the feeling of her lips against mine.

We pull away and she sighs "I've missed you so much." I tell he still holding on to her shoulder afraid if I let go I'll never see her again.

"I miss you and Addy all the time." She says and I caress her face. "Don't give me that look, it's not bad up here." She says giving me a sideways smile.

She sits down on the bed and I sit next to her. "So what's she like?" She asks and I know already who she's talking about.

"Oh man she's so smart, and she's gorgeous, she does this new thing in the morning where she'll come in and get in my arms and snuggles me until we have to actually get up." I say not noticing the smile that has spread across my face.

Jo looks sad but also happy and I don't know what to do. "Do you want me to keep going?" I ask her and she nods her head "please." She says as a single tear goes down her face.

"She really is brilliant, way ahead of her peers and she is such a people pleaser. Her and mer and the kids love each other, they are always cracking me up. She's gotten so big that she actually once told me another little boy was cute." I chuckle.

"Although now she's in a phase we're all boys besides Daddy and sometimes Bailey have cooties. She is so funny always telling me jokes, she's the life of the party." I sigh realizing how good that little girl is.

"She asks about you, a lot, she thinks you're a hero. She tells the others at daycare that her mommy died saving her." I tell her as she smiles.

"Alex." She says her voice braking and I give her a questioning look, she kisses me hard and I kiss back never wanting to stop.

She pulls back keeping her forehead on mine. "You have to go, you can't stay here." I close my eyes as a tear drops and I shake my head.

"I can't." I tell her "I can't leave you again." "You can't leave our baby girl alone, she can't be parentless." She says crying "I wish you could stay or I could go down there but I'm not gonna be selfish." She says crying even more now.

"You're alone." I say and she stands up giving me a smile "no I'm not." She leans in front of me.

"I have all of these people here with me, Mark, Lexie, and Derek have really been taking care of me, George were still meeting, he tells me stories about you." She then walks over to the crib.

"Also to keep me busy, I have James here." She says picking the sleeping baby up.

"Who?" I ask and she cuts me off "Amelia's, his dad usually has him but he'll let us take him sometimes, that way Derek can still see him."

"Come with me." She says as she puts the baby back down and takes my hand leading me out of the room.

"We're are we going?"

"Just wait, I'll show you everything you need to see."
