Jared's P.O.V
I couldn't actually believe that it was raining outside as it was still summer but it always had those rainy days in between. Where was I currently? In the underground basement, Headquarters, hiding place, whichever works for you. There wasn't a window here but on my way down here a few minutes ago I saw the rain coming down in sprinkles so far. I sat at my desk again playing around with the pencil in my hand as I stared at the 2 empty beer bottles in front of me.
I couldn't believe the words that Devin had told me yesterday and they kept replaying in my head. How she wanted me to leave her but that was impossible. I knew I had to give her time but I couldn't wait any longer. How long was it going to take for her to understand? This is the only way I can make a living currently. I never had the best grades in my school years so I most likely wouldn't get the best paying job. I had absolutely no nerve for college either. I guess you could say that I was taking the easy way out of things.
I soon heard the sounds of the elevator and looked at my right, staring at it. I groaned once; hating the thought that someone was coming. I wanted to be left alone right now. Soon, the metallic grey doors opened revealing a very happy Lexi. She had a wide grin across her face as she walked up to where I was in her black high heels that had studs on it. She was wearing a completely black, strapless dress that had a narrow, red belt across her waist and a matching fiery red lipstick. She walked in a straight line making her way over to me. .
"Heya Jared, what's up?"
I just shook my head as she leaned against the desk, trying to look at me in the eyes.
"Why you feeling so down today?" she asked with the same smile.
"Nothing, can you get me another beer from the fridge?"
I think she rolled her eyes but soon went up to the mini fridge across the room and returned back with another bottle, her heels clicking on the floor and causing a very loud echo in the room.
"Here," she said simply, slamming it on the table in front of me. I took it and popped the cap open, taking a drink.
"I know something's wrong, why won't you tell me?" she pouted.
"I just had a small argument with Devin."
"Oh, did she take the news bad."
"She practically hated me for saying that." You big idiot why did you say that? I felt my conscious scream inside my head. Hey I was drunk, excuse me if I don't know what I'm saying.
"It's okay Jared, no one takes that news well." There was a pause as she put her hands on my shoulders. "I mean I don't know why we broke up in the first place."
Not this again...
"Lexi, I don't have time for your shit right now," I said standing up.
"But I never did anything to you, I know you still have feelings for me." She came to stand in front of me. It was true that I always thought she looked very similar to Devin: same raven black hair at the same length, pale skin, petite body but any feelings I ever had for Lexi were in the past.
"No I don't, I love Devin now." I tried to walk away but she kept pulling up in front of me. Soon she took both my hands and pulled me against the wall.
"Why don't you just forget about that little slut and concentrate on living life like you always did," she whispered in my ear as she pushed me against the wall, breathing against my neck. I spun her around so she was the one with her back against the wall. She wrapped both arms around my neck and pulled me in for a kiss. I grabbed both side of her hips in the process.
After a few minutes she let go and pulled me by the hand. Me, being the idiot that I am when I'm drunk followed along...
