Devin's P.O.V

"Kat," she said simply. My eye flickered between Lexi and Kat: who was looking away, not making eye contact with me again. I felt a wave of anger wash through me.

"How could you do something like that and not tell me!?" I kicked and shook the chair again. "I can't believe that you'd actually dare to even talk to me after doing something like that! What if someone did that to your own parents?" I spat.

"I wouldn't really care less because they never even bothered to raise me correctly! I hate seeing people with happy parents it kills me inside!" she yelled back.

"Girls, girls, can we please end this already. There's much more important things to do now," Lexi put her hand on Kat's shoulder.

I pressed my teeth together with force until it hurt. The person who took my mother's life was standing two feet away from me and there was nothing I could do about it. I also thought about Jared right away; he was innocent and I'd blamed him for it instead of knowing the truth.

Kat simply opened the door angrily and left to another room, the door closed with a loud smash.

"Ugh, let's get this over with already," Lexi said pointing the gun at me again. "Bye Devin," she said with a wide grin but was interrupted by a sound coming from the right side of the room. Both of our eyes turned to see a few flashing lights and a door. It took me a few seconds to notice that it was an elevator.

"Who is going to get in the way now?!" She threw her hands up in the air. I watched as the two doors opened with a ring of a bell and Jared came into view. At first he was looking at the screen of his phone in his hands but then his eyes immediately found us.

"What's going on in here?!" he yelled coming out of the elevator.

"Stand back Jared," Lexi said pointing the gun in his direction now.

"I know better than that, you won't shoot me Lexi," he said taking another step forward.

She pointed the gun back to me. "I'll shoot her though."

"Lexi, put the fucking gun down!"

She just started laughing. "I don't think so."

"Jared!" I yelled but it all came too soon.

One click.

One hit.

And I felt the pain flooding through my chest. "OW!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, closing my eyes tightly.

"Lexi are you a freaking idiot!?" I heard Jared yell and soon I felt him breathing next to me. My eyes weren't responding and I couldn't open them at the moment. The pain was too hard to handle and I couldn't even hold on because my hands were tied to my back. "It's gonna be okay Devin, I'm sorry I shouldn't have let this happen," I heard him whisper as I felt my hands come loose. "I can't lose you right now because of that two-faced slut!" I felt him cut the rope that my legs were tied with and carry my limp body in his arms.

I didn't hear any other voices besides his so I was assuming that Lexi had left after receiving the show she'd been dying to see.

I felt myself black out and I couldn't hear or feel anything anymore. I don't know if this was the end or I'd still open my eyes after this...
