Devin's P.O.V
I looked at myself in my full body mirror, spinning lightly to observe every inch. I was wearing my black cocktail dress with emerald colored heels and matching triangle earrings. My hair was in a neat bun with a few strands of hair hanging on the ends. I didn't want to look like a business woman. I took my matching green clutch and walked downstairs to the living room. I was waiting for Kristen who was late, as always.
My aunt came out of the kitchen a glass of water and a plate of muffins, placing them on the coffee table.
"So you're really going out again? I guess I won't be expecting you home again." She said sitting down.
"As usual." I grinned while standing by the couch.
My aunt wanted to be protective of me so nothing happened to me like my mother but she didn't understand that I was young and free. But all in all we didn't have such a bad connection with each other. She wasn't mean to me or anything.
"Just be careful out there at this time."
"I know, I know. And I always am careful. It's as if you don't know me at all." Just then I heard a loud car horn. "Well that's Kristen, I'm off bye!" I said running off to the front door in my heels. I closed the door behind me and ran up to Kristen, who was waiting in her car.
"Hey hey!" I said getting in the passenger seat.
"Hey, you look great." She said observing my outfit as I did the same to her.
She was wearing a black strapless dress that had a zipped running through the middle. Her almost white blonde hair was flowing down her shoulders in curls. She had hot pink heels on with matching colored earrings.
"Nice colors you got going on." I said, putting my seat belt on.
"You look very simple." She said starting to drive down the street.
"I know, but it's a hot looking simple."
"Can't argue with that." She grinned. "So what was the address we were meeting Jared at?"
"Oh yeah forgot about that." I clicked my clutch open on my lap and searched through for the small piece of paper that had the address written on it. "15695 Brookton Avenue building number 1." I said and put it back in my clutch.
"Okie." She said and turned the radio on pretty loud. It took quite some time before we reached the proper address. For two reasons: One because it was kind of far from where we lived and second because we got sort of lost in the way and had to look for directions. We finally pulled up in front of a large building that was a few stories high. It didn't look like anyone had been living here for some time.
"Are we in the right place?" Kristen asked looking at the building and almost empty street.
"This is 15695 Brookton Avenue building 1." I said looking at the numbers on the building.
"You don't think this is some sort of sick joke? Or maybe their gonna kidnap us!?" Kristen almost yelled.
"Krist, stop jumping to conclusions. We'll never know if we stay here." I said pulling the seat belt off and opening my door. I slowly got out and closed the door. Kristen slowly did the same as we walked up the abandoned building.
"Devin! There's no one here. I'm going back to the car." Kristen yelled causing echoes down the street.
"No you're not!" I said holding her elbow and pulling her up to the building. There seriously wasn't anyone here. Where in the world were we? I asked myself in my head.
Just then we heard footsteps coming from the alley next to the building. The sounds got closer and closer but it was too dark to make out if it was a male or female or human in general.
We looked down the alley and saw a body approaching. Okay so it was for sure human.
"Devin if we get killed or raped I'm blaming you!" Kristen started walking in circles moving her hands in a random way.
I heard chuckles coming from the alley as the person, who we now understand was male came closer and under the light. I felt as if a whole ton of weight was lifted off my shoulders once Jared came into view.
"I'm sorry if I frightened you ladies." He said with a grin.
"Actually Kristen was scared as hell here." I said laughing.
"yeah yeah, who wouldn't be! So Jared, what are we doing somewhere so, so"
"Abandoned, freaky and empty." I said finishing her sentence.
He just started chuckling again. "It's not technically here, follow me." He walked back to the alley again.
"Are you sure it's safe in here?" Kristen asked, starting to shake next to me.
"Why wouldn't it be? it's just around the corner. Don't worry you got me." He turned around and walked through the alley. I pulled Kristen by the hand with me.
We kept close to Jared so we wouldn't get lost. After walking down the alley there was soon a opening at the end that revealed a house with lots of lights just about everywhere. I could here the music shaking the ground from outside already.
"Here we are." Jared said with a grin as he walked to the front door and opened it for us.
(P.S. The address is made up, I don't know if there is a such a place but I wrote it by random :)
