Jared's P.O.V

"Damn, dude I never thought that Lexi would go so low," Mike said shaking his head.
"I know, that's the last thing I was expecting from her," Daylin said as she bit into her muffin.
"Now I've got a plan to get rid of her-"
"You mean like this," Mike said making a gun with his hands.
I shook my head. "That'd be to easy and plus I don't want any one of us to get caught. We need to make sure she's caught in the movement and we come out clear."
"Then we'll take care of you and Devin," Daylin added.
"Exactly, I figured it all out in my mind." I pushed a few sheets of papers in front of them. "This is Nicholas Bradsworth, his parents are billionaires. He has an office around Hollywood and I'm pretty sure that he's got loads of money hiding around."
Mike took the papers and looked through them as Daylin peeked from the side.
"When are we getting to work?" Daylin asked, crumpling a napkin in her hand.
"Why don't we start tomorrow?" Mike suggested with a grin.
"Isn't that too early?"
"I don't think so." He shook his head.
"We can't start so soon for a few reasons: One because Lexi will know what we're up to, and two; because there still are a few empty gaps left in where the money is held and a few other details."
"But do you think you can leave Devin alone for that long while do this whole plan?"

"I guess we are both forced to wait until Lexi is out of the way. I don't want to risk getting her back and losing her all over again. Might as well wait until we don't have any further interferences."
Daylin nodded. "I guess you're right, well let's head back to your place Jared and try to work out some more information."
I nodded and the three of us got up from where we were sitting, threw our trash away and returned to our cars.

Devin's P.O.V
The next day

"Here's your change," I said as I placed $1.25 on the counter for the girl to take. Once she left the store I watched Kristen as she walked closer to me.
"Hope no one comes in the next 2 minutes so we can go."
I nodded and straightened my top that was apart of my outfit. Kristen and I had mixed up her clothes to make outfits for us today. I had the same cat purse from yesterday and Kristen was wearing my owl necklace. I loved how both Kristen and I have a very similar wardrobe. She'd also done my hair this morning even though it wasn't anything special. I stared at the clock and it finally pointed straight at 4pm.
"Yes! let's get out of here, I'm tired as hell," Kristen groaned as she picked her bag up from behind the counter. I took mine as well as we exited the shop. Today's weather wasn't very pleasant as it was pouring rain about an hour ago. Luckily it was now over but it was still cloudy outside with harsh winds too.

"Well I better get going see ya tomorrow," I said looking at Kristen.
"Okay, don't forget my clothes!"
I chuckled, "I won't." We gave each other a quick hug before walking in separate directions. I had dropped my car back home in the morning because it was out of gas and I'd spent all the money I had with me. The weather was nice and sunny in the morning, I'd thought it would have been good to walk to work together but I see that the weather lied to me.
Just like Jared lied to you. My mind said and I couldn't take control of it.
I was wearing a tank top under this luckily Kristen had taken this sweater with her or I would have been a wet dog by now. I started kicking a small stone as I walked on the sidewalk to my house. I looked down at the ground basically as my mind was going nuts about Jared again. Why should I want someone back if all they did was hurt me? Even I didn't know the answer to that question.
Because you freakin love him Devin, My mind said again.
I shook my head again, knowing that love was the biggest mistake I'd make in my entire life. I continued walking until out of no where I bumped into a hard figure. I could of sworn that person came out of no where. I looked up to apologize.
"Oops, sorry," I said looking up at that familiar grin.
"Don't worry about it darling, haven't seen you in a while," Lucas said and I took a step back from him.

"Well I'll be going now," I said and started to walk around him but he just grabbed my wrist.
"I heard you broke up with your boyfriend."

"How do you know about that?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"I was at the park yesterday, a few trees back," he said, that grin still plastered on his face.
"Well that's just great," I said but mainly to myself. I watched as he glanced down at my shirt and smirked.

"I'd be more than happy to make out with you."
"I wasn't offering," I said and pushed past him but he caught me by the waist this time. He pulled me closer and started whispering in my ear.

"Why don't you ever just live a little? Isn't that what the normal Devin would do?" he asked and started biting my ear.
For once I didn't even fight back. I guess this was the normal Devin, I wasn't made to be sweet. I had to forget about Jared, he couldn't mean anything to me anymore, not after all of this.
He soon pulled back a bit and started moving a few strands of hair away from my face. I watched as he leaned in a little and I did the same. Our lips met but only for a few seconds.
"You know, I don't think the middle of the sidewalk is the best place for this."

He nodded. "I agree, my place?"

"Yeah whatever," I said and he wrapped a hand around my waist as we walked down the sidewalk together.
Devin Miller are you absolutely losing it? Really, you're gonna make out with your best friend's ex-boyfriend that you stated was bad in the first place?
I guess I am. I replied back for once and shut off all those thoughts. I needed a break from reality and this was my time now. I wanted to break all the rules.
