I stood at the counter, fidgeting with stuff, being bored, hoping a customer would come in.

One came in, alright. "Hello, welcome to Bookworm's bookstore, how may I help you?" I asked, the thing I have to say to EVERYONE who walks in.

"I'll tell ya how you can help me." He pulled out a gun. My heart stopped. "Move." He said. I held my hands up, trying to avoid being shot.

"Did you not hear me?! I said MOVE!!!" He said. I stepped slightly to the side. "Do you WANT me to shoot?! MOVE AWAY FROM THE COUNTER!!!" He yelled. I moved away from the counter.

He went to get the money.

Okay.. This is my chance. His back is turned... I have to do something! I can't let him steal this money!

I kicked him in the back, grabbing the gun out of his hand and gripping it firmly, pointing it at him. "Don't move!!!" I yelled.

He laughed. He LAUGHED! The NERVE of that guy!!! "You're funny!!! Look behind you!" He said. "I'm not falling for that trick." I said. "Now, I'm going to call the poli-" Suddenly, everything went black.

I felt actual guilt as the girl fell to the ground. She's the first one to ever stand up to me. "Thanks, Poison. Now, come on, let's get this money." I said, grabbing the gun out of the girl's hand.

Again, guilt. I shook it off and went to get the money. "I'll be waiting in the getaway vehicle. And DON'T let anyone, especially a GIRL, almost get ya like that again!" He said.

"Okay, okay..." I said. I went behind the register and started grabbing cash, shoving it into my bag. I was about to leave, but hesitated in front of the girl.

Then, I cursed myself as I kneeled down to wipe the blood off her forehead. "Sorry." I whispered, standing up, running out the door.

Where the escape car was was now concrete. He left! I heard the police coming. I hesitated, not sure where to go. I then made the a decision, one I later realized would be the biggest decision of my life.

Without thinking, I threw the money back inside, grabbed up the girl and ran for the hills. I knew how to stay invisible. I knew how to sneak. It was like I could blend into the shadows.

Then, I cursed myself. Why the h(heck) did I bring the girl I attacked?!! Probably because she could tell on me, and I needed to convince her to NOT tell on me.

What have I gotten myself into?
