Chapter 23 | The Argument

So, I left Levy to go get food. It was 6 o'clock, and I didn't eat lunch, so I was starving. I went to my room where I grabbed my bag of supplies. Lily was hanging out with the other exceeds, trying to make more friends.

I met Natsu in the hallway. "Hey." I said, embracing the awkwardness. "How is she?" He asked. "I'm bringing her food right now." I said. "Good..." He said. "Where are you headed?" I asked.

"Going to meet up with Lucy. We wanted to explore this place some." He said. "When are we going to get Poison?" I asked. "That's your business, not mine. If you need my help, I can come whenever you decide, but that's none of my business." Natsu said and kept walking.

I huffed and opened the door to Shrimp's room. She was sitting up now on the bed, combing through her hair with her fingers.

"Yay, food!!!" She said. "Yep. The thing that brightens everyone's day!" I said, sitting down in the chair. We ate food. "How long have I been here?" I asked. "Since about... Let's see.. What time did we leave this morning...?" I asked. "9." Levy answered.

"Since about 11:30." I said. "And it is..?" She asked. "7." I said. "Oh..." She said. I huffed. "Where do you think your buddy, Poison will be staying?" She asked.

"Somewhere around here. Probably somewhere cheap knowing him. And in hiding in fear of being investigated for the bomb." I explained. "Okay.... So how do we find him?" She asked. "Tomorrow, we ask around town. See if anybody's seen him and where he goes during the day." I said.

She nodded. "Then, we can attack, and demand to know if he sent the bomb on us or not." I said. "Then what..?" She asked. "We call the cops if he did, and I'm sure of it, but first we punch him in the face, all of us using all of our magic altogether." I said.

"You're in your own little fantasy world, aren't you?" She asked. "A man can dream, can't he?!" I asked. She laughed.

"I'm going to see the others." I said. "O-okay..." She said. "Wanna come with?" I asked. "I think I'll just stay here." She said. "You sure?" I asked. "Yeah. It's fine." She said.

I left, going to see what everybody else's agenda was.

"So, what's the plan for the rest of today?" I asked. I'd found that kid Romeo. "I don't know what the plan is for TODAY. Natsu and Lucy went somewhere, and I think Erza, Jellal, and Meldy are hanging out." He said.

"Where are Wendy and the cats?" I asked. "I think they're in her room hanging out." He said. I huffed and turned around, heading back to my room.

The next day, when I got up, it was 9. I showered and put on some clean clothes, then headed to town to start questioning people.

At about 11 I'd gotten enough information to last a while. Sometimes people see him in the coffee shop in the morning at about 8, he shops at the local grocery store, and works at the bank (of course). I wondered how his heist of the castle was going, and laughed mentally.

I started heading back into the hotel when I saw a stand. There was a headband that was pretty big. It was white with gray zig-zags in the middle.

I paid for it with the pocket change I had and shoved it in my pocket, heading back to the hotel.

On the way to my room, I ran into Levy. "I was wondering where you were!!! Lily said you left your room this morning!" She said. "I went and got phase 1 of the investigation complete." I said.

"Really? So where does he hang out?" She asked. "Let's go somewhere private to talk about that..." I said. "Yeah, I agree." She said. We walked to her room.
