Chapter 21 | The Overheard Conversation

Levy

"Yeah, that makes sense. He made the nuclear bomb to get back at me for not going to Thorta with him." Gajeel said. I nodded.

"So, I say, we head over to Thorta once we get this boat, and punch him in the face." He added. "Yeah!! That'll teach him!!!" Natsu said. Gajeel rolled his eyes.

"So, when are you going to make this boat?" I asked. "As soon as possible. But we need to be more prepared for this radiation. We don't need to start having hallucinations in the middle of getting the wood." Gajeel said.

"Yeah, GAJEEL!" I teased. "Shut up, Shrimp!" He said. "How about I go get the wood?" Erza asked. "Not alone. I'll come." Jellal said.

"Just be prepared, guys." Natsu said. "Because that stuff is bad." He added. Gajeel nodded. "We'll be fine. We won't take long." Erza said. They headed out.

"I'm goin' to take a shower." Gajeel announced, leaving the room. "Hey, Levy, let's go have a talk in private." Lucy said. "Yeah." I said. We headed to her room.

"Are you okay with going back to Thorta?" She asked. "Yeah, I guess... Just, a lot of things I don't want to see there..." I said.  "But you're okay?" She asked. "Yeah. Yeah..." I said.

Gajeel

"Are you okay with going back to Thorta?" Lucy asked. I could overhear their conversation in the shower. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I couldn't help but overhear it.

"Yeah, I guess... Just, a lot of things I don't want to see there..." Levy said. I wonder what's botherin' Shrimp?

"But you're okay?" Lucy asked. "Yeah. Yeah..." Levy said. "Well, remember, even if you DO see something you don't want to see, you have us. We'll be there for you. We're your friends, and we love you." Lucy said. Glad someone's telling Shrimp they care. She needs the self esteem boost.

"Thanks. That just made my day." She said, laughing slightly. "You're welcome. Now let's go back to the living room. Gajeel might be waiting." Lucy said. I felt my face get red and I tried to block out their conversation.

"You like him, though, right?" Lucy said. "As a friend, yeah." Levy said. "I've seen the way you look at him." She said. I hit the side of the shower, trying to startle them and make them stop talking.

"What was that?" Levy asked. "It sounded like it came from the bathroom..." Lucy said. Levy gasped slightly. "What if it was Gajeel? He has radiation in him. What if it got to one of his organs or something?" Levy asked. I heard footsteps.

I looked to the door, making sure it was locked. "Gajeel! You okay in there?!" Levy asked. "Yeah, dropped the soap." I lied. How do I get myself into these situations?

"Okay.. We heard noises and got scared.." Levy said. "It's okay!" I said. I heard footsteps walking away, and sighed, trying to stop my face from being red.

Levy

"Did he overhear us?" I whisper-asked Lucy. "I don't know.." Lucy said. "He's right behind that wall, it's possible. But with the shower noises I wouldn't think so." She added.

"Well, from now on, if we're going to have a private conversation-let's do it outside." I said. "Agreed." Lucy said.

So, we went back to the living room. Erza and Jellal came back pretty quickly, with a good amount of wood. "We decided to just cut down trees for wood. Since I have my requip magic it wasn't an issue to get a couple of swords. Maybe we could all go cut down trees?" Erza asked.

"Sounds good. It'd go a lot faster." Lucy said. "Yep. Me first!" Natsu said. "You can't burn down the tree." Erza said, summoning a sword. "Here. Knock yourself out." She said. He ran out the door, sword in hand.

"Wait. Can't you use solid script magic to summon wood? Or a boat, more likely?" Lucy asked. "That's a genius idea! I never thought about that! It would just use up magic power to create a ship. As soon as I created it, we'd have to hit the water and as fast as possible." I said.

"What happens if you run out of magic?" Erza said. "The boat will disappear." I said. "Well, save it up. Don't use any magic." Erza commanded. "Piece of cake!" I said. "Let me go get bonehead and tell him we've changed plans." Erza said, walking out the door.

Gajeel came in, in "clean" clothes with is obviously conditioned hair and sat down. "So what are we doing?" He asked. "I'm going to use my solid script magic to summon a boat. We're going to get on the boat and hurry to Thorta." I explained.

"Won't that take a lot of magic energy? It'll be a two hour ride!" He said. "I know, I'm preparing." I said. "Don't push yourself too hard." He said. "I'll be fine. You've gotta find Poison and punch him in the face, right?" I said.

He smirked. So, we caught Natsu up on the plan, then started packing. Tomorrow we would hit be leaving. So we needed supplies.

*Author's Note*

Hi! I know, I made Gajeel shut them up before Levy could give it away that she likes him. I'm sorry! But I think it would be better for one of them to admit.

Also, I came up with the idea of creating the boat once I realized "Hey! Levy can create stuff out of thin air!"  It's just going to be hard for poor Levy.
