Levy

What have I done?! What if he kills me? I'll just have to keep a careful eye out.

I walked to the washing machine and threw the clothes in, then went to sit with Lily. "So you're his cat?" I asked, petting him on the head.

I sat there for a while, watching TV. The clothes finished, so I took them out. "Hey, uh... Shrimp?!!" He called from the bathroom.

"I'll have you know, my name is Levy!" I said. "Whatever, Shrimp. Do I have clothes yet?!" He asked. "Yeah, I'll slide 'em under the door." I said. "K." He said. I did just that.

"I have a question." I said once he'd gotten out. We were in the living room. He was now drinking on some water.

"What?" He asked. "You said you didn't want to see me again... Why did you accept my offer to stay here?" I asked. "I SHOULD be asking YOU why you offered. I held you at gunpoint and threatened your life." He said.

"Well, you're supposed to help someone who's in need. If someone asks you for bread, and you have some, and they NEED it, and you don't give it to them- that's wrong." I said. He nodded. "Yeah." He said.

"Well, uh-thanks, I guess..." He said. "I'm just repaying what you did for me back there." I said. "Still, though. I helped you a little bit. You trusted me enough to let me into your house! You LET  thief into your house!" He said. I shrugged. "You didn't have the thief vibe to me..." I said.

Awkward silence. "Well, uh... Do you have a guest room?" He asked. "Yeah, I'll lead you to it." I said. I led him to that room, then went to my own, Lily following me.

I then barricaded my door out of paranoia. By barricaded I mean locked it and put a chair on the knob. Better safe than sorry!

So, I changed clothes and sat on my phone for a while before going to bed, trying to ease my mind about the fact that there's a murderer and thief in my house and it's my fault...

Finally, I went to sleep at about 2 in the morning.

I woke up to something that scared the pants off of me. "Hey, Shrimp!!!" Gajeel called, banging on the door. "What?!" I asked.

"I'm leaving now." He said. "Really?" I asked. "Yep. What did you expect?" He asked. "Um... Hold on a minute..." I got up, grabbed the chair and moved it, unlocking the door and opening it.

He laughed. "Your hair is all over the place!" He said. "What'd you expect?! I haven't conditioned MINE yet this morning." I picked. He huffed.

"Let me give you some money." I said. "Nah. I didn't earn it, therefor I don't deserve it." He said. "If it's for you to survive then you do deserve it." I said.

"I've been okay for the past few weeks. Plus-I might get a job working with you!" He said. "Okay... At least let me give you fifteen dollars." I said. "If you insist." He said. I dug in my purse and handed him the money.

"Oh, one more thing." I said as he was leaving. "What?" He asked. "If you stole something from this house, I WILL turn you over to the cops." I said.

He huffed. "Come on, hand it over." I said. He reached in his bag and handed me my tablet. "Anything else?" I asked. "No." He said. "Let me search your bag." I said.

"Fine. Jeez, picky." He said, taking off his bag. I searched it and didn't find anything else of mine. "Alright. You're free to go." I said.

"I feel like I'm at an airport and happened to be wearing pants with a metal button." He said. I laughed. "See ya around, Shrimp." He said, leaving. "See ya...." I said, noticing he said 'see ya' instead of 'let's never speak to each other again'.

See? Fight mean with kindness. It works every time! Maybe things'll get better.
