Levy

A few weeks passed, normal and depressing. Finally, one night, something happened.

I was walking home from my shift. It was five after midnight, so it was pretty dark. I only had the lampposts to light my path.

Suddenly, a man approached me. It seemed like he wanted to ask me something. Maybe he lost his dog or something...?

"Hey." He said. "Hi?" I asked. "What are you doin walking home all alone at this time?" He asked. RED ALERT RED ALERT!!!!

"I have a late job... I need to be getting back, my cat might tear up the house." I lied. "Can't you stay for some fun?" He asked. "No, I really need to get going." I said. I was cringing so hard on the inside.

He cornered me against a wall. "I really need to make sure my cat doesn't tear up one of my books." Yeah, if I mention I'm a bookworm maybe he'll loose interest!

"I'm sure he won't." He said. Then, he grabbed my skirt. Then, something happened I never expected to.

Gajeel

I saw a guy cornering a girl. It was dark, so I couldn't tell who they were. Suddenly, he grabbed her skirt. "Hey, hey hey!!!!" I said, running up, getting his attention.

"Can you give me and my girlfriend some privacy?" He asked. "You're a perv. I'm not your girlfriend!!!" The girl said. I recognized that voice...

"Dude, back off. You're a weirdo, and probably drunk. Go home." I said, trying to get this guy off this poor, innocent girl.

"You have no say in what she does." He said. "But I DO!!! And I say that you should leave me alone!!!" The girl said. I knew who that was! The one I'd threatened. And now I was helping her... Gosh... I'm messed up...

"Get lost." I said confidently. "Fine. You're no good, anyways, ugly." He said to the girl, walking away. "Um..." She said. I stood there awkwardly.

"I guess we now acknowledge who each other are?" She asked. I nodded quickly. She laughed slightly. Laughed?!

"Thank you. I never caught your name.." She said. "It's Gajeel." I answered her. "Oh... I'm Levy." She said.

Awkward silence. "I guess I'm going home then." She said. I mentally cursed myself for what I was about to do.

"Do you want me to walk you there?" I asked. "huh?" She asked. "You heard me." I said. "Um..." She said. "I don't want you to get cornered by another pervert." I said.

"Why are you helping me now?" She asked. "Well, ya didn't tell on me. I know you aren't going to now. Plus, I'm trying to get away from the life of crime." I said. "It'll take a lot to get my apology. Also-have you been stalking me?!" She asked.

"I SWEAR ON YOUR LIFE IT'S AN ACCIDENT THAT I KEEP BUMPING INTO YOU!" I said. "On MY life?! Wow, I feel so loved..." She said. I laughed and started walking her home.

"Why did you go back to the store, anyway?" She asked. "My buddy ditched me because the cops were coming." I said. "Oh..." She said. Awkward silence.

"You still work at the bookstore?" I asked. "Yep. Got my money decreased for 'leaving my post', but I'm still there!" She said.

"Do you happen to have a job opening?" I asked. "A JOB opening?! You want a job?!" She asked. "I told you I was trying to quit the life of crime." I said.

"Uh, I think we have a slot open. I'm supposed to have a helper on my shift but I don't. You could apply for that." She said.

"Okay!" I said. "You mean it?!" She asked. "Yeah! I need money." I said. "Hm." She shrugged. "Well, that's my house!" She said, pointing to a nice, two story house.

"Don't get any ideas!" She said, noticing I was examining the size of her house. "I'm not, I'm not. I've just never been in a house that big..." I said.

"Really?!" She asked. I nodded. "Where DO you live? If I can ask." She asked. "See those woods? Under one of those trees." I said. "You're homeless?!" She asked.

I nodded. "My buddy Poison left, and I decided I was tired of him, so I told him I wasn't living with him anymore. Now I live in the woods." I said. "Oh... Um..." She said.

"How long has it been since you showered?" She asked. "A while." I said. "Um.. Do you want to, maybe, stay at my place?" She asked nervously.

"I dunno..." I said. "Not in that way!!! It's just, well, the least I could do after what you did for me back there..." She said.

"Would your parents approve?" I asked. "Parents?! I'm 21..." She said. "REALLY?!!" I asked. "I know, I look younger..." She said. "You look 12." I said. "Shut up! Meanie!" She said.

I laughed. "I guess I will." I said. "Sweet! Come on!" She said. I was surprised at how this girl was trusting me. I needed to be sure not to break it.

She unlocked the door and I walked in. Her cat eyed me curiously. I got a better look at the cat. "Where did you get that cat?" I asked.

"I found it on the street. It had a tag, but there was no contact information." She said. "That was my cat. Lily!" I said.

"Whoa! I'm sorry, you can have him back!" She said. I picked him up and he remembered me, and we played around. She giggled.

"I think he's happy here." I said. "Are you sure?" She asked. "Yeah. Plus I have no way to take care of him." I said. "Oh... Okay..." She said.

"Maybe I could come visit him? If that's okay with you?" I asked. "Totally, yeah. It's your cat!" She said. I set him down on the floor. "Okay, I'll show you to the bathroom. Do you have a change of clothes or not?" She asked.

"I have a few, but they're dirty." I said. "I can wash them, I guess. You'd just have to stay in the bathroom and wait forever until they were done.." She offered. "It's better than wearin' dirty clothes!" I dug out my clothes and handed them to her.

She showed me the bathroom and I went in, locking the door behind me, thanking her. She was really nice. I was amazed. Hopefully we could become friends.
