Invisible (C.T.H)

{Chapter One}

Maddie's POV

"Maddie, let's go!" I heard my brother, Luke, yell to me.

"I'm coming, I'm coming!" I rush downstairs to find Luke already waiting by the front door, impatiently pacing back and forth.

"Okay, we have 10 minutes before we need to be there. Do you have everything?" Luke asked hurriedly.

"Yes Luke, I have everything. Stop worrying," I shake my head at my brother's behaviour.

We walk out the door and lock it, before putting our luggage in the trunk of his car and getting in. We buckle our seatbelts and I immediately put in my earbuds, drowning out the sounds of everything around me. I look around at my surroundings, taking in the beautiful scenery. I've always been one for being outdoors, but after the incident, I haven't been too keen on the outside world. 

Flashback

"Luke, I'll be fine. I'm just going for a walk," I tell my stubborn and overprotective brother. He sighs before replying.

"Fine, just call me in case anything happens. I mean it," I roll my eyes and walk out the door, taking my time to the park I always go to. When I arrive at the park, I go straight to the swings. I sit down on one and slowly begin rocking my legs back and forth, barely leaving the ground. While swinging, I looked around the park, and that's when I realize I shouldn't have. I see my ex boyfriend, Logan, playing football in the patch of grass I used to play on. I quickly get off the swing and walk away, hoping he doesn't notice me.

"Hey slut!" I hear Logan shout to me.

"Shit, I knew I shouldn't have come to this park tonight," I mutter under my breath while continuing to walk away. Logan catches up to me and forcefully spins me around, making me face him.

"Hey, I was talking to you!" He shouts in my face. I look down and shuffle my feet, not wanting to be there in that moment.

"Don't ignore me when I'm talking to you!" He shouts again, before I feel a hard impact on my face. I place my hand on my throbbing cheek, trying to hold back tears. I look up at him and see the same smirk I used to see everyday.

"Ha, you're already crying. You're such a bitch," He spits at me. I let the tears freely fall down my face while he continues to laugh at me.

"Little baby, why don't you go die," He says once more, before kicking me in the stomach and walking off. I lay on the ground of the park, curled up in a ball. I pull out my phone and call Luke.

He picks up after the second ring. "Hello? Maddie, are you okay?" I hear him ask.

"L-luke, can you come get me from the p-park, please?" I whisper.

"Yeah. I'll be there in 5 minutes, okay?" He replies. I hang up and curl into a smaller ball, crying furiously.

Flashback over

I didn't realize I was crying till I felt Luke nudge me. I looked at him and I could see his face full of sadness. "You okay, Maddie?" I nod, not saying anything. He sighs and I go back to looking out of the window at the scenery.

"This tour is going be the worst thing ever," I said to myself.

This is my first official book! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it. I'll update when I can, but I'm also VERY skilled at procrastinating. Anyway, I hope you like it.
