Calum's POV
It's July 16th today, meaning Luke and Maddie's birthday. That's right, they're twins. They're just not identical. It also makes 4 amazing months that Maddie and I have been dating, and it's the most wonderful experience in the world.
I'm talking with Luke, Ashton, and Michael about what we should do for Maddie, then later I'm going to talk to her plus Ashton and Michael about what to do for Luke.
"Luke, you know her better than anyone, what does she enjoy?" Michael asked him curiously. Luke sighed and thought about everything she enjoys.
"Well, for starters, she hates clubs. Despises them, she's had too many bad experiences there with you know who. Second of all, she hates when people buy her things. Oh, and when a celebration for her is big," he started, making us nod in understanding.
"She likes reading, watching the rain or the rain in general, Supernatural, and sunsets. She absolutely loves music, that's what keeps her strong, besides us. She loves dogs. On the nights she can't sleep, she enjoys staying up and talking with the ones she loves, meaning all of us. I feel like I'm missing something," he stated, thinking about it.
"Oh! Her favorite thing in the entire world occurs late at night when she can't sleep. She'll either look out of a window, or go out on a balcony and just look up at the night sky. Connecting constellations, staring at glistening stars, just finding peace for herself after everything that's happened to her during that day. I helps her from thinking too much and clears her mind," he finished, making us all speechless.
With what Luke told us, I know exactly what I'm doing for Maddie for her birthday. I've already told Luke I wanted to do something for her with all of us, then just us two and he's okay with it.
Hearing all of the information Luke just told us made me fall in love with Maddie even more. I didn't think it was possible, but it is.
She's still asleep, which is why we're all talking now. Yet again, it is also 6 o'clock in the morning, and knowing Maddie, she didn't sleep last night. My plan for her birthday needs to be absolutely perfect.
She doesn't want nor like anything big, so I'm just going to go with a simple dinner for her and Luke, then we can come home and watch all their favorite movies and TV shows, then I'll just stay up with her. Talk like we always do, whether it's about good things or bad. We have a week off, so we can do what we want to.
"Guys," I spoke up, getting their attention. "I'm going to go wake her up, or at least try. Knowing her, she probably didn't go to sleep till a few hours ago," I finished, getting nodded responses. I nodded in return and strolled into our shared room. Well, Luke's, Maddie's, and mine.
She lay peacefully with her eyes closed and mouth in a small smile, her beautiful blonde hair falling on her face slightly. I don't want to interrupt her sleep, since she most likely gets less than all of us boys combined. I quietly sigh and lay down next to her, pulling her closer by her waist. She slightly stirs, but doesn't wake up.
"I can't wake you up, baby girl," I whisper quietly and kiss her head softly, not wanting to ruin her relaxation.
"Maddie," I whisper, lightly shaking her. No response.
"Maddie, baby, wake up," still no response. I sigh and whisper again, "Okay, so that's how it's going to be."
With that, I slowly leant down and softly pressed my lips against hers, feeling the warmth of her lips instantly. She didn't kiss back for a few seconds, but once she did, I felt a fire ignite in the pit of my stomach, making me feel all tingly. This feeling never fades and grows stronger everyday, it's just something I could never get tired of.
"Wow, good morning to you too, Cal," she mumbles against my lips, making me smile. I shush her and just continue to enjoy the feeling of her lips against mine, moving in perfect sync.
"Happy Birthday, beautiful," I mumble, finally breaking the kiss. She smiles brightly and I could see a blush evidently making its way across her rosey cheeks.
"Thank you, baby. I'm glad you're the first person to tell me. Well, other than Luke. He's my twin brother, so it's only fair he tells me first," she replies, laughing softly at the end. I laugh too and peck her lips, then hold my hands out for her to take, her happily obliging.
We walked into the living room hand in hand, and as soon as we got there, the boys all erupted in a chorus of shouts.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MADDIE! I can't believe you're nineteen now, you're not my baby sister anymore," Luke speaks up first, beginning to fake cry. We all laugh while Maddie just shakes her head at Luke's reaction.
"Luke, I'm the same age as you! Plus, I'll always be your baby sister. No matter what," she replies, hugging Luke tightly.
"Happy Birthday, Luke! You're getting old," she tells him, making him whine playfully. We all laugh and I turn my attention to Maddie.
"I know you don't like anyone buying you things, but you're my girlfriend and I needed to. I got you this," I said as I pulled a box out from behind my back. She took it after she let out a long sigh, then sat down to open it.
"Oh my god, baby! It's so beautiful," she ecstatically proclaimed as she pulled out a necklace that says my name on it, and I have one with her name on it.
"That's not all," I said as I showed her my necklace. It's magnetic and when the two halves of the heart are put together, it says "Calum and Maddie: I love you to the moon and back, with the at we started acting engraved on it." She smiled so widely, I thought her face would freeze that way.
"Calum, this is the most amazing thing ever. Thank you so much!" She said as she hugged me tightly. I smiled and hugged her back, kissing the top of her head.
"Anything for you, baby girl," I took a deep breath, before continuing.
"I love you, Madison Faith Hemmings," I finally got the sentence I've waited so long to say out, and I'm full of relief.
"I love you too, Calum Thomas Hood," she replied, making me smile wider. I heard the boys cheering and I laughed, Maddie did too.
"Happy Birthday, Maddie," I told her once more, making her press her warm, plump lips against mine. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment, kissing back. I sighed in content and put my forehead to hers.
"Best birthday ever," she whispered, making me smile again. I love how happy she makes me, it's just amazing. I hug her tightly and don't let go, pulling her into my lap.
"I'm glad you're enjoying it so far, baby. There's more to come, but don't worry, it's nothing big," I reassured her, making her nod.
