Maddie's POV

The guys had a meeting they needed to attend this morning, so I've been at Calum's and my place by myself all day. The sound of keys jingling outside draws my attention to the door. I smile when I see Calum enter the house, shutting the door behind him. He pulls off his jacket and coughs, then locks the door.

I stand up from my spot on the couch and walk over, wrapping my arms around him in a hug. "Hi baby," he hugs back and buries his head in my hair, holding me close. He coughs again, then groans and sniffles.

"Hi, baby girl," he mumbles quietly as we pull away. I bite my lip and look at him, slightly worried and confused.

"What's wrong?" I lead him to the couch and we sit down, and I take his hands in mine.

"I feel like shit," he laughs lightly, and I bite my lip again. I place my hand on his forehead, immediately feeling heat radiating to it.

"You're burning up," I frown softly and pull my hand away, brushing some hair out of his face. "You're probably getting sick," I tell him honestly, sighing deeply.

"Probably. You'll take care of me, right?" He gives me his famous puppy dog eyes, and I nod in response.

"Of course I will, babe. Here, lie down on the couch. I'll go make you some tea," I smile softly, then kiss his forehead and stand up. He goes into a coughing fit, making me frown more.

I walk into the kitchen and start the kettle, pulling down a mug from the cabinet. He groans again, then sneezes. The kettle whistles and I turn it off, making his tea.

I walk back into the living room and set the mug down on the table. "Here baby, drink this. It should help a little bit," I smile softly, then go upstairs to the bathroom. I find the thermometer and some medicine, then grab a rag and head back downstairs.

"What's all that, baby?" Calum asks, taking a sip of his tea.

"Things to make you feel better," I smile and wave the thermometer around, then set the rag and medicine down. "Open," I kneel down to his eye level and he opens his mouth, then I stick the thermometer in and set a timer on my phone.

I go into the kitchen and wet the rag down with cold water, then wring out the excess water. The timer goes off after five minutes, so I walk back over to Calum and take the thermometer out of his mouth.

"102.5 degrees. Sorry baby, but you're sick. You're not doing anything till you get better," I hand him the medicine. "Take it," he sighs and reluctantly takes the medicine.

"Baby girl, I'm fine. It's just a little cough" he states, then goes into another coughing fit.

"Mhmm, sure it is. You have a fever, you're coughing, and you have a stuffy nose. It's not just something small. Don't worry, okay. I'll take good care of you. Now, this will help with your fever some," I smile and place the rag on his forehead, getting a sigh of relief at the feeling.

"Holy shit, that feels good," he sighs again, and I laugh lightly.

"I told you it's not just a cough," I sit next to him, letting his feet rest in my lap.

"Okay, yeah, you're right. I don't like being sick," he pouts and I sigh softly, rubbing his hand.

"I know you don't, but it's okay. If you cooperate and let me take care of you, you'll get better faster," I smile softly, then stand up again and flip the rag over to the other side. "You need to try breaking your fever," I stroke his cheek softly, then kiss his forehead.

"How do you know all of this?" He questions, raising an eyebrow. I laugh lightly and shake my head.

"My mum's a doctor, remember. Which, if this gets worse, I'm taking you to see her. For now, I'm going to call her. Get some rest," he nods and closes his eyes, instantly falling asleep.
