Maddie's POV

Calum and I are telling everyone about the engagement later tonight. We have dinner reservations at a fancy restaurant, so that is where it is going to happen. I am extremely nervous, mainly on how my parents and brothers are going to react. I do not want them to freak out or anything.

Though, Calum is already like a son to my mum and dad because of how close him and Luke are. All of the guys are like sons to my parents, and they are all like brothers now. Still, I can not help but be nervous.

We have a few hours before everyone meets us at the restaurant, so we are free to do whatever we want till then. Speaking of Calum, I think he is in the kitchen looking for food again. He has a bottomless pit for a stomach sometimes, no exaggeration.

"Calum, what are you doing?" I laugh as I walk into the kitchen, getting met with his back turned to me.

"Looking for food, what else would I be doing?" He looks at me and smiles softly. I laugh and shake my head. He closes the refrigerator door and walks over to me.

"Are you ready for tonight?" He takes my hands in his and looks in my eyes. I take a deep breath and nod.

"I have never been more ready," I lie, but smile softly so he is not suspicious. He leans down and presses his lips to mine, and I instantly respond back. I curl my arms around his neck, while his find their way to my waist.

I smile against his lips and play with his hair, as he pulls my closer. We stay like this for a few minutes, before I pull away. I bite my lip and smile softly, his forehead resting against mine. "I love you so much, Madison Faith Hemmings."

"I love you so much, too, Calum Thomas Hood. I can't wait to become your wife."

"I can't wait to call you mine forever." He grabs my hand and looks at me. "We should probably get out of here so we can get there before the others do."

"Yeah, let's go." I laugh and grab my phone, then toss him his keys and we head out of the door to the car. He locks the door behind us and then we get in. We buckle up and he pulls out of the driveway, heading to the restaurant.

It only takes fifteen minutes for us to reach the restaurant. Calum pulls into the parking lot and parks. He turns off the car and we both get out, and he locks it afterwards. I feel his fingers intertwine with mine as I start walking to the door.

I give him a wide smile and he returns it, before leaving a kiss on my cheek. "Are you sure you are ready for this, baby girl? I know how nervous you are, but it is okay." He stops our walking and looks me straight in the eyes.

"A-actually, I am nervous. I do not want my brothers or parents to get mad at me, their opinions matter. Especially Ben's. He is the oldest out of us four, and he has always been protective. Jack and Luke have, too, but not as much as Ben." I bite my lip harshly and take a shaky breath, my eyes immediately looking down. He shakes his head and lifts my chin up.

"Hey, it is going to be fine. Yes, your brothers are protective, but so am I. If they have a problem with us being in love and getting married, that is not your fault. I love you, and I will fight for you. No matter what. Got it?"

All I can do is nod. After his statement, I am utterly speechless. I clear my throat and take a deep breath. "Okay, I can do this now. I love you, too. Thank you."

"Come on, let's go inside so we can get a table before everyone else shows up." He smiles and we walk inside. A few minutes after we sit down, I spot my family and instantly get nervous again. Just get it over with, Maddie.

"Mum, dad, over here." I wave them over and look at Calum. "We have your family left." I mumble and gulp harshly, my stomach in my throat. I wipe my sweaty palms on my pants.
