Maddie's POV
I'm sitting on the couch of Calum's house watching TV, when I hear the front door open. His parents are out of town this week, so I've been staying here and helping around the house for them. I look and see Calum walk in, setting his things down. He looked exhausted and slightly frustrated. He gave me a faint smile and I returned it, watching as he sighed and sat next to me, resting his head in my lap.
I begin running my fingers through his hair, trying to relax him a little bit. "Tough day at the studio, baby?" I ask, making him nod in response.
"Yeah. I couldn't come up with a song idea, and I kept messing up on bass today," he replies, frowning a little.
"Aw, baby, I'm sorry. You'll get it," I reassure, still running my fingers through his hair. He smiles softly and closes his eyes, probably due to the feeling.
"Thank you, baby girl. It's just kind of frustrating when you have a perfect song in mind, but can't write it down on paper," he mumbled, rubbing his face tiredly.
"I couldn't imagine. Hey, why don't we go take a nap. It'll help relieve you of some of that stress," I suggest, making him nod. I smile and stand up, grabbing his hand and walking upstairs to his room.
Once we're inside, I shut the door behind us and smile softly, rubbing his back soothingly. He smiles back and kisses my temple, then pulls off his shirt and walks over to the bed, then plops down face first on it, sighing deeply.
I sit on the bed and rub his back more, making him mumble. "Oh, that feels really good."
I move to where I'm straddling his waist, his back still facing upwards. I begin to slowly massage his shoulders to ease the tension.
"Baby, you're so tense. You really are stressed," I sigh, continuing to massage his shoulders and back.
"Really? All I know is that feels good and it's helping," he replies, his sentence getting muffled by the pillows. I bite my lip and continue massaging, feeling the tension slowly going away.
Once his muscles are back to normal, I get off and lay next to him, seeing him looking at me. I give him a small smile, which he returns. He flips over onto his back, but turns on his side to where he's facing me.
"Thank you for that, baby. It felt really good," he laughs lightly and I do the same, then smile.
"You're welcome. I'm always available to do that whenever you need it. Just let me know," I kiss his cheek and move the hair out of his face, then smile again.
"You're honestly the best person ever. Fuck, I love you so much," he pulls me close, looking into my eyes.
"I love you so much, too," I whisper, making him grin. I connect our lips in a gentle kiss filled with love and passion, enjoying the feeling of his lips on mine.
We pull away and I turn on my side to where my back is facing him, ultimately ending in being pulled closer.
"Come on, baby, let's take a nap. You'll feel better when you wake up," I mumble, feeling him plant a kiss to the top of my head.
"Okay," he replies. I know he's about to fall asleep because his breathing slowed down to a steady pace, making me smile.
I close my eyes and begin to slowly fall asleep, enjoying the security of Calum's arms around me. I fall into a peaceful sleep, a soft smile on my face.
*an hour and a half later*
I slowly open my eyes and look around, seeing Calum's not in the bed. I get up and stretch, then walk into Calum's bathroom. I do my business, then wash my hands and exit the bathroom, turning off the light.
