Luke's POV
"Ugh. I hate sharing a bed with you, Luke. You're too tall for it. Can't I just sleep with Calum? You hog the bed and steal all the covers," Maddie asks me.
"No, you're not sleeping with Calum. You're sleeping with me and that's final," I reply to my stubborn sister. She rolls her eyes and sets her stuff down, leaving the room irritated. I look at Calum angrily. He just shrugs and lays down on his bed, pulling out his phone.
I groan frustratedly and leave the room, going to find my sister. I check Ashton and Michael's room, no sign of her. I check around the whole hotel, still no sign of Maddie. I get more worried as the seconds keep passing by. I look outside of the hotel, sighing in relief as I spot her sitting across the street on a bench. I walk over to her and sit down, letting out the breath I hadn't realized I had been holding in.
"I'm sorry, Mads. I'm sorry for getting mad at you when you did nothing wrong. I overreacted," I say.
"No. I'm sorry, Luke. I'm sorry for acting childish," she replied.
I open my arms and she falls into them, relaxing in my embrace. "I hate it when we fight, Luke. Even though we are siblings and that's what siblings do. I hate it," she tells me.
"I hate it, too, Mads. I hate it, too," I reply. We sit there hugging for a while, before she pulls away.
"Hey, can I ask you a question, Mads?" I ask.
"Yeah. Go ahead, Luke," she replies. I take a deep breath and exhale, before asking.
"Do you have feelings for Calum?" She looks at me wide eyed for a second, then looks away and nods her head.
"Yeah, I do," she replies in a whisper that was barely audible.
"I've actually had feelings for Calum since we became friends, but I didn't say anything. Nor could I," she adds in. I nod my head in understanding, then reply.
"You know my rule, Mads. None of the guys are allowed to date my sister, it's just not right."
She nods and looks down. "Yeah, I know. I was just hoping that rule would change since I'm 18," she replies. "But, I'm not going to argue. I know he doesn't like me back, and if he ever finds out that I like him, it's going to be awkward," she adds in.
"Okay. I'm just letting you know," I tell her one more time, before pulling her back into another hug.
Calum's POV
After Luke left, I decided to go to Michael and Ashton's room. On my way, I change my mind and go looking for the siblings. I check everywhere in the hotel, not seeing any signs of them. I walk outside and see them across the street, hugging each other tightly. I walk over and stay at hearing distance away.
"Hey, can I ask you a question, Mads?" I heard Luke ask Maddie.
"Yeah. Go ahead, Luke," she replied. I see Luke take in a deep breath and let it out, before asking.
"Do you have feelings for Calum?" I notice Maddie look at Luke wide eyed, before looking away and nodding. She said something, but it was too quiet for me to hear.
"I've actually liked Calum since we became friends, but I didn't say anything. Nor could I," she added in.
I see Luke nod, most likely in understanding, before replying again.
"You know my rule, Mads. None of the guys are allowed to date my sister, it's just not right," the lanky, blonde haired boy said.
"Yeah, I know. I just thought that rule would change since I'm 18," she replies. "But, I'm not going to argue. I know he doesn't like me back, and if he ever finds out that I like him, it's going to be awkward," she adds in.
"Okay. I'm just letting you know," Luke tells her before pulling her into another hug. I take that as my que to leave, since I've already heard more than I should've. As I make my way back to the hotel, I trip and fall right in front of the siblings, making them look at me suspiciously.
"Calum? How long have you been here?" Maddie asks.
"Not very long. I literally just showed up," I reply.
"Actually, I've been here long enough to know you have feelings for me back," I mumble extremely quietly to myself. Apparently not quiet enough, because I saw Maddie's eyes widen slightly.
"Oh, uhm, okay. We're going to head back to the hotel now, you can come with if you want," she adds in.
I nod and walk behind the pair of siblings, feeling bad for lying to Maddie. We arrive back to our room and walk in, immediately getting ambushed by Ashton and Michael.
"Where the hell were you all? We were worried sick," Ashton said.
"Relax guys. We were just outside the hotel sitting on a bench across the street," Luke replied. "Okay, well, we'll be going now," Michael said, before he and Ashton left the room.
By the time the other guys left, and us three got changed into our pajamas, it was 10 p.m. We decided to just call it a night since we had a busy day. I hop into my bed and get under the covers, instantly feeling comfortable. Luke and Maddie are already asleep in their bed. "Classic Hemmings," I thought to myself.
I turn over onto my left side, fatigue slowly taking over my body. Before I fully fall asleep, I find myself thinking of how awkward it is between Maddie and I now. I quietly sigh to myself and think some more. "Looks like I'm going to have to keep my distance from now on," I thought, before finally falling asleep.
A/N:
Alright, here's chapter six! I know it's shitty, but I tried. Future chapters will be much better than this, I promise! How awkward do think it's going be between Calum and Maddie now? If you want to leave an idea for the story, just comment. Those ideas are very helpful to me. I'll try and update as much as I can, which will be pretty easy since I honestly have no life. I hope you enjoyed this filler chapter!
