B - Beach

Ping!

I heard my phone go off and found a message from Vic.

Get dressed, I'm taking you to the beach.

I squealed and ran to my room to get ready. I loved the beach and I'd been waiting all day for Vic to tell me where he was taking me on our date. I picked out some shorts and a tank top and slipped on my converse. I checked my hair in the mirror and I was done. Five minutes later and Vic was texting me that he was outside.

I walked to Vic's car after locking the door to my apartment and jumped in the passenger seat.

'Hey baby.' I squealed excitedly.

'Hey Kells. You happy about where we're going?' Vic asked and I smiled.

'Of course I am. You know how much I love the beach.' I answered. I loved to swim in the sea and walk barefoot in the cool sand. Vic liked to surf once in a while and I liked to watch him. It was a great view for me.

'Well let's get going then.' Vic said and started the engine. I leaned over quickly and pecked him on the cheek.

'What was that for?' Vic asked.

'Because I love you.' I said.

'You're so cute, I love you too.' Vic replied and then we took off towards the beach. It was only a fifteen minute drive so we'd be there in no time. It was early evening and my favourite time to go to the beach. The sun was almost ready to set so the sky was pretty, it wasn't too hot or too cold and the beach was usually very peaceful.

It was a quick drive to the beach. Vic and I listened to our favorite radio station and before we knew it we were pulling into the car park by the beach. I grabbed my towel and jumped quickly from the car. I was so excited like a little kid would be. Vic went around to the boot and pulled out a picnic basket. I got even more excited then.

'Please tell me you brought cake.' I said and Vic chuckled.

'You'll have to wait and see my little Kellybear. Coming?' Vic asked and held out his hand to me. I took it and we walked onto the beach.

After we walked for a few minutes we came to one of the secluded spots. There were rocks and trees that formed a little cove that was closed off from the rest of the beach. Vic and I loved to come and spend time here. We never got disturbed by anyone because the beach was mostly empty at this time of day. Most people were at home making dinner.

We walked into the little cove and I lay down my towel on the sand. Vic set the basket on my towel then he pulled out his own towel and lay it next to mine. He then moved the picnic basket so it was in the middle of our towels. I opened the lid on the basket and peeked inside. There were sushi rolls, hot Cheetos, nachos with salsa, strawberries and cake.

'Vic you brought all our favorites. You're the best boyfriend ever.' I smiled.

'Well we wouldn't be the weirdos we are if we didn't have this strange mixture of foods. And for the record you're the best boyfriend ever.' Vic said and I blushed. He was the best boyfriend ever but we'd stopped that little argument ages ago. We both thought the other was the best. I guess that's what love does to you.

'Did you bring anything to drink? I'm thirsty.' I asked.

'I brought your favorite. Dr Pepper. And also this.' Vic said and put his hands into the basket. He must have hidden the drinks at the bottom. He pulled out two cans of Dr Pepper and to my surprise a bottle of champagne with two plastic glasses.

'You brought champagne?' I asked even though it was obvious he had.

'Yup.' Vic replied.

'Why?' I asked.
