My cheeks burned as I quickly bent down to pick my books up. Max came over and picked up to of them. I grabbed it from his hand and headed over to the librarian and checked out the books with my library card. I then grabbed my stuff and headed out.

This entire time we were both as silent as mice. The tension was building up inside me and I felt embarrassed at my reaction to his news. 'Of course he has a girlfriend ! He's freaking hot, why wouldn't he?'

I yearned for someone other than me to start a conversation to break the awkwardness.

"Listen-" we both started at the same time.

Without a beat he continued, "A-Are you jealous or s-something?" he asked nervously, scratching the back of his head, looking slightly quizzical.

I looked at him slightly surprised. Then I burst out laughing and clutched my stomach.

"Y-you thought I-I was j-jealous?" I laughed out.

He looked sheepish, but the edges of his mouth were turned up. "So your not." he replied.

"Of course not." I said waving him off. "I was just surprised, that you, Maxon Andrew Stevens has a girlfriend." I said smirking.

He groaned. "Please don't turn into my sister!"

"Who Riley?" I laughed remembering the teenager that had walked out of the car. "I haven't seen her yet. She's a sophomore right?" I asked.

"Yea. " he said chuckling.

"What's her name?" I asked.

"Who?" he said absentmindedly.

"Your girlfriend?" I said, smirking.

"Isabella." he said, rolling his eyes.

"Well, expect a lot of teasing." I teased.

He groaned. "Bee, Isabella is not exactly your type of girl."

"And you know what my type of girl is? I asked, raising my eyebrows.

"Duh."

"And that is?"

"Uh-nerdy, soft spoken and cyinical?" he said, running his hand through his brown hair.

I grumbled incoherent words under my breath.

"I'm spot on aren't I?" he said smirking.

I stuck my tongue out at him, closing my eyes in the process. I felt a hand on my hair and before I knew it my neatly combed red hair was a complete mess. I reopened my eyes to a smirking Max.

"You idiot! Now I look like Merida on a bad hair day!!" I said, trying to adjust my hair.

I walked to my car and opened the door. Max jumped into the driver's seat.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Driving you home while you explain our project to me." he said, putting his hand into my front pocket and snitching my keys out.

I jumped back. "YOU DON'T JUST PUT YOUR HANDS INTO SOMEONES POCKET!!" I screeched.

He winced and then groaned. "Just get in the car woman." he said.

"No." I replied, testing his patience, slightly amused.

"Oh sod it." he replied, as I raised one eyebrow.

Before I could react, he picked me up threw my over his shoulder went to the other side of the car and sat me down, buckling my seatbelt in the process.
