                                                                                 Hailey's POV

"HAILEY!" shouted Sharon, as a big truck swerved past me. I had just missed it. I quickly shook my head from the dismal thoughts clouding it and concentrated on the road ahead.

"Sorry, sorry." I muttered, regretfully.

"What is with you?" asked Sharon, concern lacing her voice.

"Zara." I whispered, and my two friends looked awestruck at me.

"What? In the cinema? Did she try anything?" asked Sharon, pushing herself between mine and Tasha's seats.

"No. Well, sort of." I mumbled, tightening my hands over the wheels and trying to burn a hole through the window glass in front of me.

"Lee, tell us. You barely talk about her. You always keep stuff about her bottled in. Only once have you actually opened up. It's not good for you." Came Tasha's soothing voice.

"That's because every time she talks about her she breaks down." sighed Sharon.

"I did see her in the cinema. Actually Max saw her first-"

"Oh no. And he doesn't know does he?" came Tasha's horror stricken voice.

"Yea. So he went up to her and they started talking." I said, steeling myself as I narrated our exchange at the cinema. I wasn't going to break down. Not again. Enough tears had been shed for that stupid reason.

But it was so difficult.

Imagine a situation where your best friend goes to his home country forever without telling you and never contacted you again. Then imagine your other best friend who you thought you knew so well started getting pissed at you for stupid reasons. Then imagine the shock you get when you realize you never knew the real her, and she tells you that the only reason she had been your friend was because you had always tagged along with the guy she had a crush on.

Yea, really bad feeling. For seven years we had been best friends. For seven years we had had sleepovers and girl's night ins and movie marathons. For seven years we shared secrets and trusted each other with our worst fears and our wildest fantasies.

Then, she suddenly dumped me. That too for the big leagues.

I felt horrible. I felt used. My heart felt as though a burning red knife sliced through it over and over again. Like someone had placed hot coal on it twice. All when I was twelve years old.

She joined the biggest group of queen bees in junior high. She became best friends with Jessica Simpson, the most famous girl in school. That was when the torture began.

I sighed as I finished my story, tears prickling my eyes.

"Let's cancel the party." Stated Sharon, whipping out her phone.

"Are you crazy! No." I said, swerving to the right a little harder than I was supposed to.

"We need a night of tissues and sappy romantic movies." She stated, holding her phone to her ear.

"No, need a night to forget." I stated, looking at my knuckles, which had become pale, as a result of my hands tightened over the wheel of the car.

"Are you sure?" asked Tasha, cautiously.

"Yes." I said.

I was going to use today night to forget. Forget everything and have fun.
