Max's POV
I woke up sweating hard.
Sweat trickled down my face as I threw my blanket off of me. Another bad dream. My heart raced as I put my head in my hands as I tried to calm my racing heart.
This time it was so real. I could see my fathers face so clearly.I clenched my fists.
The demons of my past were trying to catch up to me.
I wouldn't let them.
They were going to bring me down.
I couldn't let them.
They were going to harm me and my family.
I had to save them.
They were going to hurt the people I love.
Isabella and her sister would be able to defend themselves.
But Bee, she couldn't.
She wasn't strong enough.
I had to stay away from her.
I thought about what happened today. I had never felt a stronger connection to anyone.
It was electric. It was frightening.
I had to stay away.
I had to stay away.
It wasn't an choice anymore.
If I didn't, they would kill her.
And if they did that. I wouldn't be able live with my self.
Better safe, than sorry.
I would start tomorrow. But right now I needed comfort.
I grabbed my cell phone and called Isabella.
"Hello?" came her sweet voice from the other side.
It wasn't as sweet as Bee's though.
I shook that thought from my head.
I had to keep Bee at a distance. Not for my sake, but hers.
