"I cannot believe you made me wear this." I grumbled, dumping my overnight bag into the back of my car.
I went back in and left a note for my mom saying that I was going for a movie and I would stay at Sharon's place for the night. Then I went back to the car and got into the driver's seat.
"Shotgun!" cried Sharon as she came towards the car. But as soon as she came close, Tasha pushed her aside and sprinted towards the car and got into the passenger seat, locking the door in the process.
Sharon muttered incoherent words as she sat behind us. "You know, the word shotgun has a meaning right?" she scorned.
"Don't care honey." replied Tasha.
"Well you should." said Sharon as I hit the accelerator, earning a yelp from the two of them, but successfully making them quiet.
When we reached the cinema after parking my car, we headed straight for the popcorn station.
The cinema was moderately sized and fully furnished with five screens, each room containing about a hundred seats. A large popcorn station with four counters lay amidst everything. The tickets were to be booked and paid for online. Right beside each theatre screen entrance was an electronic touchpad device where you could collect your tickets, by giving a pin that would be sent to your mobile number you give while paying for the tickets online.
Even a credit collecting system, where you earn credits with each visit to the theatre, was available. But I didn't know much about that.
"The guys said they'd meet us here as soon as they get the tickets." murmured Sharon, glancing at us for a second before gluing her eyes back to her phone.
We waited patiently in line for our turn to come. There were four stations. As soon as we were called we dashed to the second counter.
"What would you like miss?" asked the man at the station.
"I want one large salt popcorn, one large caramel and one large chocolate popcorn." I said, smiling at the thought of eating my delicious salt popcorn.
"What about the guys?" whispered Tasha, causing a frown to etch itself upon my face.
"What about them?" I shot back, as the man at the counter turned around to get our orders.
"Idiot." She muttered, causing me to raise my eyebrows. "Excuse me? Yea, we would like to nachos and another caramel popcorn too please."
'Max doesn't like caramel popcorn. You know he likes salt!' sang my brain.
Well I didn't care.
"Can you give us seven bottles of water too?" continued Tasha as the poor man tried to get everything done as quickly as possible.
When we were done, I paid the money and we headed back to the place we left Sharon at. I was holding two bags and so was Tasha. They were very big bags. Heavy too.
I trudged all the way towards Sharon, who was speaking to Alex. The rest of the guys surrounded him, but as soon as they saw us, they rushed forward. I sighed, smiling in relief. So chivalry hadn't died with the nineteenth century.
"POPCORN!!! Cried Alex and Simon in unison as they came jumped in glee, grabbing the popcorn bags from me and Tasha.
"Down boy." Giggled Tasha as Simon pecked her cheek mischievously, grabbing the caramel popcorn from her in the process.
"Please guys, get a room!" cried Sharon, rolling her eyes.
"Don't worry, it's very dark in the theatre." He said winking, making Tasha blush a very dark shade of red, as she hit him lightly on the shoulder.
