"Crazy in love" by Kadesbostany

Warm scarlet blood coated Emily's hands while the pool of blood saturated her knees. She felt cold; lost, even. She never experienced first-hand of something dying before her very eyes. There was an overwhelming numbness that blocked out all feelings of repulsion and shock for a few seconds after watching the life leave Ian's body. She couldn't move.
Emily probably wouldn't have come back to the land of reality had it not been for Miranda Carter attempting to gently console her by rubbing her shoulder. That caused Emily to twist around violently, moving away from poor Ian's body as her teeth chattered with fear. She had a million questions to hiss at the uncaring girl with the bloody switch blade in her hand, but, Emily had no voice. She could barely pay attention the ache in her belly that occurred from Ian's push that caused her to land on the floor.
"Why are you sad, Emily?" Miranda asked, her eyes wide and childlike. They reminded her so much so of Peter and his overwhelming innocence. "Haven't I done enough for you??"
Emily ignored her painful stomach ache as she tried to remain straight faced while not crying. She could barely register that it was Miranda who here and doing this; it didn't make sense. Emily barely knew her! Miranda couldn't possibly be the stalker! What about Declan?
"What have you done?" Emily whispered, overwhelming sadness for poor Ian. If she had simply gone with him, had she simply listened to him, he would still be alive....
"He was trying to take you away, so I hurt him," Miranda explained, her child-like eyes watching Emily with strong intent. "I'll never let anything happen to you again."
There didn't seem to be any rationality left to her. Any she had previously seemed to disappear as she watched Ian's lifeless body on the floor in the pool of blood. Miranda kept sneaking glances at the knife in her hand and then the body on the floor. Perhaps Alan O'Hare had been right all along – there was a sociopath and a psychopath in Emily's midst the entire time. She just hadn't pegged the crazy people would be siblings. "You're....you're the person who was living in my walls...." Emily said, able to see the look of sheer crazy coating the teenager's face. Maybe it was the massive pool of blood bringing Miranda into full view as a crazy person, or perhaps it was the stress of Emily getting ready to leave the state that brought this behavior out full throttle. Either way, Emily realized she was in very big trouble. Ian was dead, and Dr. O'Hare was either down for the count or dead as well. The longer Emily sat on the hard floor surrounded by blood, the more her stomach started aching uncomfortably. She was cramping.
"You're the first person who's ever wanted to talk to me over Declan," Miranda smiled warmly, momentarily oblivious she was walking into Ian's pool of blood to get closer to Emily. Her eyes watched her, holding a strange kind of empty hollowness that expressed she was truly delusional. "It was me....You were looking at me...." she smiled lightly. "You weren't looking at him....Not at all!"
Emily barely noticed her mouth had fallen open as her eyes welled with fresh tears. An innocent young man was now dead because of this poor crazy girl. "You t-took all those pictures....d-didn't you?" she whispered.
Miranda's head nodded a little too fast. "It helped us be closer....I couldn't stay with you at night....someone might have noticed..." she said, her eyes brimming with tears as she smiled warmly.
This was all happening too fast for Emily's liking. She could barely register everything that was happening at once. "You took pictures of me in the shower..." Emily whispered, her repulse unable to hidden. "You followed me....You watched me...."
"But it was me..." Miranda tried weakly, her eyes still brimming with tears. "You wanted ME! You didn't want my cruel brother like everyone else, from that first day we met you wanted me! You smiled at ME!"
