HOLY CROW! The last two chapters?! It feels so crazy to have gotten to this point. It's bittersweet to be here.
A huge thank you to every last person who gave this story a chance and who's stuck with me even though I went through some spots of not updating for a while. It meant a lot that you stuck with me through thick and thin! This chapter will reveal who the killer is while the next chapter will be a silent nod to the people who read the "MWS" books to clarify what relationship this person had with those characters.
SEQUEL!?
********
I have been asked this question almost every time I finish a story. For this story I do hold a bit of a spin off in mind, but it's up in the air at the moment whether or not I plan on writing it.
Happy Reading!

Jake Mosley sat himself down on the porch steps of his grandmother's house, his suitcase beside him. It was almost time to start his journey to college in California. The last three months he had spent grieving the loss of his very best friend and the girl he loved with everything he had. He couldn't keep count of how many nights he spent sitting out on the porch crying his eyes out. Jake used to think guys who cried were lame. If going by his own previous guy conduct, Jake would've considered himself the lamest guy in the world. It didn't matter what his previous thoughts of crying were – nowadays he cried pretty often. Jake couldn't believe when he got the call claiming Emily died. After he went to the hospital to meet up with her parents, his life changed forever.
He couldn't believe it was actually both Carter siblings who were responsible for stalking Emily. He couldn't believe the doctors when they said she received enough hits to the head she developed a brain aneurism in the hospital. The baby was stillborn. Both she and the kid were gone far too soon. Now. Emily and that poor little baby boy are simply gone. Cremation makes it so there's not even a grave to visit.
As depressing as Emily's funeral had been, Ian Quinn's funeral had been exceptionally sad for Jake as well. He never liked Ian, he couldn't even pretend that he did. But, he respected that in his final moments, Ian had apparently been trying to protect Emily from harm. The young and gawky Ian Quinn had become friends with Vinessa, and for some reason wanted to see Emily the day she was scheduled to move. His funeral had been atrocious. His police chief father had been in complete tears and his police-academy bound brother had been a complete mess as well. Jake sat on his grandmother's porch, staring blankly into space as he wiped his eyes where more tears had formed. His dad was gone. The girl he loved was legally dead, and even three months later there were still so many unanswered questions that he would probably never receive answers to.
Declan Carter's father was arrested for child abuse given the lengthy diaries Miranda Carter kept detailing her long-term horror stories of the beatings she endured by her father's hand. She detailed so many instances of child abuse, it sadly explained why she and her brother were so very deeply psychotic. It became evident from the diaries found the reason the teenager had been having a sexual relationship with Coach Cartwright was due to her stalking Emily. Miranda had witnessed how deeply engrossed Emily was with her journalism club in finding a story of the coach fooling around with underage girls. In order to provide Emily with a story, Miranda seduced the man into quite a few sexual escapades with the intent on being caught.
So many things made sense, and yet, they also didn't. Authorities explained that Miranda and Declan died at the scene of the attack due to wounds that occurred when they attacked each other. Miranda had apparently used a terribly sharp razor-blade to slash through Declan arteries and lower extremities to disembowel him. Declan then managed to get a gun-shot off to his sister's head as he lay dying.
During his two-hour flight to Chicago, Jake couldn't help but think of how strange it was that Dr. O'Hare managed to be pulled from the building alive and well with the exception of a massive strike to the head that rendered him unconscious. The doctor refused interviews from local news outlets who caught wind that he had been there when the respectable D.A's two children died at the scene after one of them stalked a pregnant woman. Which one it was, the media couldn't decide. Even though Miranda's diaries proclaimed herself loving Emily, the media more enjoyed the story of an ex-boyfriend being the maniac. The story was spun to show that Declan was jealous that Emily had found herself a new boyfriend in Ian Quinn. They claimed he killed them both in a fit of rage and his younger sister had somehow managed to get mixed up in the chaos as well. Jake knew this story not to be true for multiple reasons, but there was no stopping the tabloid lies once so many people started sharing the same story. A homicidal ex-boyfriend was more interesting to hear about on the nightly news report than a beaten teenage girl who was just fucked up mentally.
