Chapter 10: The true story
Odette’s POV:
I kicked the door and everyone turned their gaze to me. But who cares about their stares? Board lang sila ng Lopez GOC. At wala akong pake sa kanila.
“Sorry po, sir. Hindi po kasi mapigilan si Ms. Odette.” The secretary behind me apologized.
“We need to talk.” I said, giving him a sharp eye contact.
“Odette, Vince is obviously in the middle of the meeting.” I heard my lolo said.
“I don’t care. We. Will. Talk. NOW.” I stormed out at dumiretso ako sa office nya.
Hindi na ‘to makakapaghintay. Nakakainis! How dare that guy keep the truth from me? I am the mother, for crissakes!!!
*PAK*
Sinalubong ko agad ng sampal si Vince. I’m not sorry!
“So ginagawa mo talaga akong tanga?!” I started. “Una, bigla bigla ka nalang umalis ng bahay without any word. Second, unti unti mong nilalayo sakin ang anak ko. And now what? You’re lying to me about my daughter’s condition? What the fuck is that, Vince?!”
What? Tutungo nalang sya dyan? Hindi magsasalita? I deserve an explanation, okay?!
“Ano?! Hindi ka ba mageexplain?!” I shouted. Nakakainis!!!
“I’m sorry. Ayoko lang istorbohin ka. Alam kong hinatid mo si Kevin kanina, kaya hindi ko na sinabi sa’yo.”
“WHAT? Are you crazy or something? Anak ko ‘yun—“
“And I’m not taking Ven, nor Maze away from you. You’re just busy with Kevin. And I’m just doing my responsibility as their father.” He said and then he left me.
O-kay.
I was really left speechless. Parang tinamaan ako or what. I don’t know kung nahurt ba ako kasi pinapamukha nyang wala akong kwentang mother, o nahurt ako dahil totoo?
Pero dude. Ang sakit. He’s telling me that he’s not taking away the kids from me, instead, I’m just busy clinging to Kevin. Ang sakit naman nun.

And then it’s been two days. Binubulabog ako ng konsensya ko. I don’t know what to feel! Hindi ko alam kung magagalit ba ako or what. Parang… okay fine. Tinamaan ako sa sinabi nya. He may be right. Nawalan ako ng time sa mga anak ko dahil kay Kevin. Pero… parang wala din naman syang karapatan ipamukha sa’kin ‘yon.
AGH! I don’t know!!!
“Mommy!!!” The kids? The kids are back?!
