Napakadali lang ng topic na ito. To be honest ay wala akong masyadong alam as a writer but as a reader meron.

Showing is making your readers feel what you wanted them to feel. Showing is inviting them inside your stories, and make them feel what the characters are feeling. Showing is like an empathy link between the characters and your readers. 

This way of writing really amazes me. Reading is an escape to reality para sa akin so how can I escape if I still remain who I am? Kung ako pa rin si Allyza Maureen habang nagbabasa? Ang sarap sa feeling maging Annabeth Chase na anak ni Athena, maging Margo ni Q, maging Hermione na muggle-blood na makakatuluyan ni Draco sa panaginip, maging Clary na half-angel, or in short, maging isang tao na gusto mo maging pero imposible. 

Minsan din masakit maging Hazel ni Augustus, maging Isolde, maging Allie at marami pang iba. It's a good book kapag nararamdaman mo kung anong nararamdaman ng character. And that what showing is.

Example:

The morning air was bitter ice in her nose and mouth, and dazzling frost lay on every bud and branch.

Next is, telling. This is so simple. Narrate all the details in a scene. Ang dali, di ba? To be honest, telling is boring for me. Hindi nga ako medyo marunong pagdating sa telling dahil more on emotions/ feelings ng characters ako. For me, telling is simplest way of showing. Ganoon lamang 'yon. Kaya sorry kung wala akong masabing kahit ano about sa telling dahil sa sobrang simple nito, hindi ko alam kung paano ipapaliwanag.

Example:

The temperature had fallen overnight and the heavy frost reflected the sun's rays brightly.

Ang plain ng telling. But in showing, mas nararamdaman mo. Parang manhid ka lang sa telling. They have the same information but different feelings. Iba sa pakiramdam. When you're reading a story na telling, parang ang bilis ng mga pangyayari but when showing, everything felt so surreal (OA).

We have different writing styles. Depende sa inyo kung paano niyo dadalhin ang story niyo. But for me, SHOW, DON'T TELL!
