A soft knock on the door made me glanced at it as it slowly opened with a pair of sneaking brown eyes.

"Hey." I greeted with a smile, while I dropped down the volume on my mp3 player.

"Is Hailey coming over?" Aunt Crissa asked, entering my room and sitting down on the floor with me, crossing her legs while I continued polishing my nails.

"Yhup. She said she'll be here in an hour." I said glimpsing at her as she nodded, smiling.

She wouldn't just come over to my room if she don't need anything from me, "You're gonna use the car?"

"I was gonna..--" She began, "My brother Tony asked me to baby sit my nephew Kale because he'll be having an overtime at work."

Uncle Tony lives quite near yet far from here and aunt Crissa has been occasionally borrowing my car to visit him there since they hadn't seen each other for three years now when aunt Crissa migrated to Germany to start a living with her husband.

"Well it's okay. You can borrow the car."

Aunt Crissa crimped her eyebrows, and asked. "But what would you be taking to the party?"

"It's not a problem. Hailey's brother can get us there in a jiffy." I assured, smiling to her while I secured the light blue nail polish before placing it back in the drawer.

"Are you sure?" She asked, but I gradually shook my head in doubt before responding.

"I'll give her a call."

To avoid smudging my nail polish, I gingerly scooped my phone on my bed and then, dialing Hailey's number. The phone rang on the other line for a second before Hailey answered.

"Hey, Hai...--"

"Jeez! If you kept on calling me thrice an hour, Nikki and I won't be able to make it there as planned." Hailey mumbled on the other line, while I glanced over to aunt Crissa who just stood up and went to check my dress hanging on the closet handle.

"Hailey?" I called.

"Nikki? Oh, I'm sorry. I thought..--"

I cut her off, "You thought who?"

"Uhm.. Sandra. Yeah, she's been bugging me.." Hailey chuckled with a trace of nervousness.

"Okay?" I'll let that slip for now.

"Anyways, I was gonna ask if your brother is there with you? And if he could give us a lift to the party later?" I asked, staring at my toes with painted toenails as I started wiggling them for no reason.

"Stephan is here, but I'm not sure if he could. Why?"

"Aunt Crissa will be taking the car, so I think you have to give your brother a chocolate and sweet words so he could give us a ride to the party."

"It won't work, he's smarter than me."

"What? Of course not!"

"He has a medal, you know that."

I giggled, "Yeah, I know. I'm just encouraging you."

"Well, I guess I'll just chain him on the driver's seat then." Hailey softly chuckled.
