hase's POV

The next morning, Crissa called me to come over and talk to Nikki since she has been crying. She really didn't give me enough details as to why, but I hope it wasn't because of me.

I sighed heavily while I stood on their doorway. I was just about to softly blow my knuckles on the door, when Nikki's aunt opened it for me.

"Chase, she won't talk to me." She rushed after gesturing her hand upstairs while wearing a weird apron with bear eyes positioned right to her chest.

I gradually nodded before averting my gaze away from her as I was quite distracted by the four eyes staring at me. On the side note, I was slightly worried about Nikki as I followed her aunt to her room. When Crissa opened the door, I saw her on her back being covered with a blanket, sobbing. I also took a second to glance around her room, and noticed my jacket on her bean bag. The daylight's ray infiltrated through the thin sheeted curtain while a sweet scent of cologne pervaded the room which filled my nostrils.

"Nikki," Crissa called.

Nikki cuts off with a grumble, "Please, leave."

Crissa moued and then she looked at me while I gave her a nod before she decided to leave us for the meantime.

I walked straight towards Nikki's bed that was covered with lavender mattress and sat down beside her, "Hey, what's wrong?"

Nikki's POV

The minute I heard Chase's voice, I quickly took off my blanket and looked at him in astonishment.

He stared at me with question, "What's wrong?"

"I'm," I started with a lag as I was stupefied. "..not doing good at all." I sighed, getting up for a sit, with Chase helping me a little.

"Your aunt said you won't speak to her, glad you talked to me. What's up?" Chase asked, neatly tucking a few strands of hair away from my face.

I twiddled my fingers, staring down at them before shrugging, "Cramps."

He nodded and then took my hand with his warm palm. I would be dishonest if I said his touch did nothing to relax me from the excruxiating pain I was feeling at the moment.

"Have you taken pain relievers, yet?"

"No."

"How about your breakfast?"

I shook my head, "No."

It wasn't easy being a girl, especially when it was your time of the month.

Chase let out a sigh and asked me another question. "Well, do you want anything?"

I shook my head once again, and replied. "No, I'm okay."

I hated lying when I know that I want something, and that I was definitely not okay.

"Okay.." Chase gradually stood up while I followed him with my eyes through the door.

"Wait, you're leaving already?"

He turned to face me with an angelic look, but the thing he was doing right now was only making him grow a pair of horns. "...I'll be right back."

Yes, he responded but the words that slipped out of his mouth just passed by my ears and I didn't know why he came here only to annoy me by leaving purposely, after a minute.
