They defeated me in virtual combat.

To be fair, I had no clue how to control the man on the screen. You couldn't even see the man but his hands and weapon. COD or "Call of Duty" was strange. Just another thing I will have to Google.

After they laughed at my failed skills on video games, we talked. Louis had been on Zach's shoulder the entire time. I was happy that Louis made a new friend today just like I had at school.

I felt bad lying to them about my life, but I had no choice. I couldn't tell them I was a genie. Nate has warned me and has set precautions to make no trouble. I couldn't ruin it with my true identity. Apparently magic isn't something that is celebrated and revealed, seen more as an illusion or something to fear.

Tyler and Zach eventually left, leaving me, Nate, and a pouting Louis alone.

Now that we're by ourselves, I can ask Nate my questions. I've been meaning to ask him ne since this afternoon.

"Nate, what's a boyfriend? Are you my boyfriend?" I asked.

Nate spat out his drink and looked at me in shock.

"Why would you want to know that?" he sputtered out.

"Destiny was telling me to stay away from you because you were her boyfriend? Aren't you my boyfriend as well?" I asked confused.

Nate flushed at my statement, causing more confusion. What did I say?

"Um well yeah, I am a boy that's your friend- but a boyfriend is a different concept. A boyfriend is a person you date or a significant other..." he said uncomfortably, gulping harshly.

"A date? Is that like courting? Are you to marry her?" I asked as I felt sympathy for him.

"Uh, yea. But I broke up with Destiny today, so we aren't dating or courting anymore. There will be no weddings anytime soon." Nate shuddered.

"You broke up? You can't do that. It's against tradition." I stated.

"In this century, you can date whoever you want most of the time. You don't have to marry the person you are dating. Besides, I don't think what Destiny and I had would be considered courting."

"How so?" I asked curiously.

Nate's eyes widened even more as his face turned red.

"W-Well you know...we just didn't actually date is all. Nothing else." Nate sputtered.

"Fascinating. I will need to look into this more," I said interest.
